In my opinion, a man who was not able to handle a storm in his life, who just took decision of breaking up without caring for his partner's feelings, how will he be a good life partner to Sona. I know, maybe anyone in his place would do the same, but, its that all will power and courage you had. This is infact before they are married, if tomorrow Dev and Sona gets married, and Ishwari does this kind of fiasco, or something a typical saas-bahu type problems just to show Sona that she is still no.1 in his son's life and no one can be at the spot, so will Dev again leave Sona.

Does Dev has any value for Sona?

If he have a no hope left that his mother will accept after the suicide drama. Till now he ignored small things about his mother showing hints but suicide is huge. How can any one ignore that and still hope that she will accept his love. Regarding what if sona ask choose one of them . he already choosen her. Iswari is his mother he didn't choose who he wanted to be his mother. It's God decision and dev choose sona as his life partner so I don't think these two situations can be compared.
