who makes these categories and on basis of what ? acting talent or boxoffice success

and how come jacqueline is still a b lister and wat about nawaz, randeep hooda etc

Numerous parameters have to be taken into account.

1) How is the actor/actress perceived by the public ?

2) Is he/she in demand ?

3) What kind of projects is she/he being offered ? (Movies directed/backed by the likes of Vishal Bardwaj, Rohit Shetty, YRF vs thoses directed by the likes of Indra Kumar, the Bhatts and the likes)

4) Does he/she generate interest of general public and media ? What about endorsements ?

No one responded? I love this question. This always fascinates me. The last time people were debating whether Sonam is an A lister or not.

Jacqueline is not an A lister because she does not fit any of the category. The biggest category is being the most bankable star. At no point in Jacqueline's life has she ever been considered one of the highest bankable female stars.

Same goes for Nawaz and Randeep Hooda. If you are a brilliant actor then that is what you are, a brilliant actor. Your talent does not give you a place in the A list category unless it is placing you at the top of the box office also.

Such classifications are there in HW too.
They have A+,A-, B+ ...it's like some exam grades.

What I found the meanest about this category is..

When Yami got Kaabil, majority literally were ridiculing HR for working with B lister. I mean. Yami isn't even so bad. I felt that was such a blatant display of class system.

in bw, it has become superior - inferior thingy. But then it's just me.
