I respect your point of view and thanks for sharing it with us.😊But i think this topic has been discussed a lot of time earlier in the forum and all of the members who had doubt on why Dev is hiding his relationship from his mother was answered in the 100th episode itself. And Dev gave the answer to it.
First and the foremost thing. Dev don't discuss everything with his mother if you are following the show from the start. You must be aware, when it was about Neha's engagement that broke, Dev didn't tell his mother about Neha's conditions for the wedding. It was later that Ishwari ji came to know about it. And same was the case with Neha and Ranveer's relation. He didn't tell his mother before offering the job to Ranveer (Though Neha asked him not to tell her) and even when he wanted to gift new apartment to Ranveer he didn't tell his mother. And talking about the business, he only discussed about Gujrals to his mother, but not about any other business deal ever.
Gujrals were a different case. Becuase Mr. Gujral talked about the marriage proposal to Ishwari. Dev discussed about it with his mother. The yes, about Natasha he asked for Ishwari's help. But she refused and told him that it's the most important decision of his life and he has to take it on his own. Without her help. Then how on earth will he get a thought that he should talk to his mom about him and Sona. He's not aware of his mom's insecurities either.
In one of the episodes, he said you are always with me in all my decisions and i don't want anything else. And here Ishwari mom said i'll always be. Then what's the problem now. Sona is her son's choice. His love... And she know Sona well. She's a lovely girl and she likes her too. Its her possessiveness and insecurities about her place in Dev's life that's making her act rude towards Sona.
And you have already mentioned that Dev share the closest bond with his mom then why will he tell Sona to tell her parents about them, when he has not told Ishwari mom about it yet. Dev will never want to do that. Whenever he will decide to tell it to someone. The first person would be his mom.
And you said why they need to know each other after confessing love... Well my dear, they are in love... But when you are in love you surely want to know everything about each other... From where the question of getting married first and then getting to know each other with time came... They have all the right to spend time together, know eachother well and then decide on getting married. They are 2 mature and sensible people... There's no theory that confess your love, then go to your family and tell them, get the wedding dates fixed, get married and start knowing eachother. This actually sounds filmy.
These days couples do take time to know each other well and then decide on getting married. It's not that they don't want marriage. They surely want. But at present, want to spend quality time with each other, getting to know each other and exploring their feeling of love.
Dev gave the answer to your question in 100th episode itself. He don't know why is he hiding it from everyone. It's just that he don't want to tell it now. He fears to lose her. He don't want to share her love with anybody for now. Not even to his family. He want all her attention for sometimes. Eventually they have to tell the families... But for now she's only his.
And i don't find anything wrong in this. He want all her attention now. This is the first time, he has thought of his own happiness... He has someone in life, who's there to take care of him and who's taking his responsibility. For all these years, he was the one who was the pillar of strength and support of his family and still is. He is taking care of them. Fulfilling all his responsibility.
But here, Sona is his pillar of strength... She's his support system... He can talk about all his worries to her without even thinking. The Dev Dixit who never ever share his feeling to anyone and talk to her without thinking about the right and wrong and she accepts him the way he is. Don't he have a right to live for himself and have his lady love only for himself for sometime.
And for Dev's character, if after falling in love he was ignoring his mother or any of his responsibilities than i would have said that the character is butchered. But this is not the case... He's still the same Dev for his family... Still their pillar of strength. He still take care of the smallest things about his mother and is doing everything for his sister's happiness. This is the same Dev we love. Only difference is, now he is happy from within. He's in love and this Dev is the one who has started forgetting the troubled past and want to live in the present.
