FF: Fire and Ice Ch14 pg 27 (14/01)

Fire and Ice

The first thing you'll ask me is why I have chosen such a title but I just felt that it goes with the storyline. I think that Fire and Ice mean a lot of things as they are both an opposite of each other just like Vidya and Sagar in my FF: Fire and Ice.

Sagar Pratap Singh:

25 years old. Big businessman.

India's most eligible bachelor. Doesn't believe in love.

He doesn't believe in any relation except a brother-sister relationship.

He employs thousands of workers each day.

He owns large properties and hotels around the world.

He has a huge mansion which contains his sister, mother, bro-in-law and aunty.

He has no parents.

Vidya Shankar:

24 years old. Middle class girl.

She is a very sweet and simple girl.

She has a big family and under circumstances has to do a job interview to support her family financially.

Sindoora Nanda:

27 years old. Sagar's elder sister.

She is a partner in Sagar's business and loves her brother to bits, at least we think.

She is married to Aniket.

She is the mistress of the house but will she stay the mistress?

Aniket Nanda:

29 years old.

Sagar's bro-in-law.

Sindoora's husband.

A very good friend of Vidya's father.

A shareholder in Sagar's company.

He is a very quiet husband and accepts all the orders from his wife.

He loves his wife a lot but knows she is bad at some times.

Jairam Shankar:

53 years old. Vidya's father.

Very strict.

And has to take care of the family.

He is very proud of his daughters and loves them to bits.

He shares a life of happiness and is a proud husband and father.

He wants Vidya to marry a guy which is from a high family so that person may be able to keep Vidya happy.

Shakuntala P. Singh:

47 years old. Sagar's aunty.

Who has never married.

She loves her family and strives to fulfill the needs of parents for Sagar.

Sagar loves his aunty very much.

Radhika Shankar:

51 years old. Vidya's mother.

She is a very caring mother and worries more for Vidya's older sister than Vidya in other words Vidya is neglected.

She loves her husband a lot and cares for her family a lot.

Sanjana Shankar:

27 years old. Single.

Vidya's older sister.

She doesn't care about anyone but herself.

She wants everything easy and her own way.

She is very care free and happy go lucky!

Chinu Jaisingh:

26 years old.

Chinu is Jai's close buddy.

Chinu works in Jai's company and is like Sagar's elder brother.

Shalu Jaisingh:

25 years old.

Shalu is married to Chinu.

And is leading a happy life.

She has whatever she wants and is like a ruler in her own home.

She works in a library and is a big time boaster!

Bharat Nanda:

10 years old.

Aniket and Sindoora's child.

Note: I need response to know if I should continue.

If I get replies maybe I'll post part 1.

Note: If I do continue my posts will sometimes be small or big and when there is a lot of schoolwork then my posts will be small or I'll post a big one everyweek.

The two most dangerous things.

Like love and lust,

Like summer and winter,

Like the trees and grass.

Just like big and small.

And other differences in the world.


All of the above are different but the lives of Sagar and Vidya are totally parallel to each other!

Chapter 1

The scene starts of in The Singh Industry. Sagar has just arrived at work. Sagar usually arrives at work around this time and today was an extraordinary day for him. He had a lot of work in his mind as was quite stressed for the past weeks as he had a big meeting coming up. Sagar was not much of a go out person he likes to stay in one quiet corner. Chinu walked by to make sure Sagar took his tablets for stress and told him to relax. Sagar on the other hand told Chinu that he can't relax as there was so much work to do and his company is the best and has to look the best. Chinu then told him that he must take care of himself. Sagar hugged Chinu and told him I will. Chinu decided to let Sagar work and Chinu did his own work in his next door cabin.

Later on in that afternoon it was very quiet and Sagar was preparing his speech…

Sagar: So everyone… Riya, Riya!

Riya (secretary): Yes sir.

Sagar: What time is my meeting scheduled for tomorrow?

Riya: 9:00am sir.

Sagar: Thank you, you may go now.

Sagar was tensed at work as tomorrow was a big day for him.

Meanwhile…

V's mom: Sanjana, Sanjana!

Sanjana: Ji mom!

V's mom: Where is that useless Vidya?

Sanjana: She should be around here mom. Now shut up and leave me alone!

V's mom: Okay, okay there's no need to throw a tantrum. Vidya!

Vidya came running to her mom.

Vidya: Ji ma.

V's mom: Please would you put these clothes to dry outside?

Vidya: Ji mom!

V's mom: Jao!

Vidya picked up the clothes and started hanging it on the line.

Just then Vidya's father came home.

Jairam Shankar had a sad look on his face.

On seeing this Vidya dropped all the clothes and went inside.

V's mom: Oh ji you took so long!

V's dad: Woh…

V's mom: Oh ho how long will you talk. Now hand over the salary!

V's dad: Actually…

Vidya had a worried look on her face.

Jairam Shankar handed an envelope to his wife.

V's mom: Yeh kya hein?

V's dad: Look for yourself!

V's mom: How stupid am I, it must be you salary!

Radhika opened the envelope and turned it upside down, a letter fell onto the table.

V's mom: Letter? Vidya! Vidya!

Vidya came running in from her hiding place.

V's mom: Read this!

Vidya: Ji.

Vidya took the note into her hand.

Vidya reads it quickly to herself.

Soon her smile disappeared and her eyes gave way to tears.

V's mom: Kya hua? Stupid, kya hua?

Vidya: It says that Baba has retired!

V's mom: Oh ji why did you retire?

V's dad: I didn't retire! I didn't retire, they made me retire. I've grown old now and my bones are not that strong and it's the company's rule that at my age you need to retire.

Sanjana: Great! Ab hum kya kare?

V's mom: He'll have to find another job!

Vidya: What, Baba 53 years old hein aur woh iss umar mein kaam kar rahe hein.

V's mom: Was anyone talking to you?

Sanjana: Exactly, so just shut up.

Vidya looked insulted.

Jairam Shankar was worried as how was he to run the house and pay for things. He went into a flashback mode there he saw the same scene of his retirement. His boss said: "Today one of the most genuine people are retiring, yes, it is Jairam Shankar who has given us so much. Jai-ji we really would like you to stay with us but it's time for you to relax and spend quality time with your family. So everyone a big hand for Mr. Shankar for his excellent work and our best wishes also go with him." He saw the whole staff applauding.

He blinked for a while and then continued in flashback. He pictured how he went into his Boss's office. He groveled at his Boss's feet and he said: Please sir, give me back this job. Please! His boss replied: Mr. Shankar I don't know if you've realized that you are 53 years old and our company's policy says you have to retire from the company at 50. We've given you an extra 3 years to serve us and I think time's up. His boss called the guards and Jairam Shankar was given a bouquet of flowers and sent home in a limousine.

Just thinking of it Shankar-ji's heart became sad. He started imagining once again. He imagined how he was going to get Sanjana married as she was eligible for marriage at any moment now. He was thinking that Vidya would have to do everything now as she had further education but how? He knew that Vidya would be able to get a job anywhere but his heart refused to accept that he was retired and would have to spend the whole day at home. He knew he won't be able to survive without working but all the more now life would become easy.

Vidya thought to herself that she would now have to do something!

Meanwhile…

Chinu: Sir, sir may I come in.

Sagar: Ah, Chinu just the guy I wanted to see.

Chinu: Really?

Sagar: Of course. Dude, I've got such a big headache!

Chinu: I told you to relax! Sagar if you keep doing this you will get really sick!

Sagar: I'm just a little worried! It's nothing!

Chinu: Nothing, the work you did in the past 5 days is enough to be compared for six months of work.

Sagar: But that is part of business isn't it?

Chinu: Anyway Aniket is coming now to meet you.

Riya: Sir Aniket-ji has arrived.

Sagar: Send him in.

Aniket: Hello boys!

S + C: Hi jiju.

Aniket: I have to discuss some matters with you so can we sit. You too Chinu.

Chinu: Of course, come.

Aniket told them that they would have to prepare a slide that shows every aspect of what the business produces and new flow charts would be needed to be made again. They would have to work their butts off and would never stop until they get this deal and if they don't they will never be able to be the number 1 company in India but nevertheless Sagar had more tension!

Sagar couldn't handle the pressure. His head was roaming in circles. His vision was getting weaker and weaker. He was breaking into sweat! He held his head and soon fell on the floor and fainted!

Aniket and Chinu panicked!
