Chapter 5

Vidya was happy that Sagar turned out the exact opposite of what Aniket-ji said. She was on her way home and finally reached her house.

When she went in the house she saw a big garland over her mothers face. Vidya immediately dropped her bag and ran to her father.

Vidya: Baba, yeh sab kya hein?

Her father was in tears.

V's dad: It's the truth!

Sanjana: Mama! (wailing)

Vidya: Nahin, yeh nahin ho sakta. Yeh kaise hua?

Ramu (uncle): Sanjana had gone to meet her friends. I was gone to buy the vegetables. Your mom was in the house. I heard her scream and Shambu kaka ran in to find your mom on the floor, dead.

Vidya: Yeh kaun ho sakta jisse mere parivaar ko itna dukh pauncha?

Ramu: Patta nahin behti, mujhe patta nahin ke yeh kaun ho sakta.

Vidya was panic-stricken. She didn't know what was happening in her life. Her father was absolutely still and was not talking.

The police were coming in and out of the house and were questioning Sanjana and Mr. Shankar. Sanjana took it very lightly that her mother was no longer with them.

The night passed and finally it was morning. Vidya took a shower and made sure her father was fine and headed out for the door. She took a taxi and finally reached the Singh Mansion.

Sagar met her at the door and told her that he would be eating breakfast in the lounge. Vidya was not listening to Sagar, she was thinking about her mother.

Sagar: Aur… Vidya are listening to me?

Vidya broke out into tears and hugged Sagar. She was crying deeply on his shoulder and on his chest.

Sagar: Vidya, Vidya, what happened. Ek minute, bheto.

He kneeled on the floor beside her.

Sagar: Ab batao Vidya, what happened?

Vidya: Meri ma…

Sagar: Kya hua aapki ma ko?

Vidya handed him the morning newspaper. Sagar read the article of Vidya's mother, dead!

Sagar: Oh my god! Vidya yeh kya hein. Tumhari ma marjooka hein.

Vidya: Hanh.

Sagar hugged Vidya and he shed a few tears with her.

Sagar: Vidya, why don't you take the day off?

Vidya: Even if I wanted to, I can't because for me to get my grip back I shouldn't be near the investigation.

Sagar: Oh, that's fine, you can spend the day here.

Vidya: Anyway, so can I get you your breakfast?

Sagar: Vidya forget the breakfast. Let me make us a cup of tea and you can tell me what happened.

Vidya: Okay.

Vidya wiped her tears and Sagar went into the kitchen. Sagar brought Vidya a hot steaming cup of tea. Vidya thanked Sagar and Sagar sat down beside her.

Sagar: So what happened?

Vidya: Sanjana, meri choti behn apni doston ke saath bahar gayi aur chacha sabsi kharidne ke liye bahar bhi gaya. Aur phir kissi ne meri ma ko cheekna sunha. Phir jab woh aaya meri ma already marjooke tha.

Sagar: Oh my god! How fatal!

Vidya: It was very fatal. I came to my house after finishing my duty here and I found out.

Sagar: We need to get this of your mind. Let's go to the cinema.

Vidya: Nahin sir. Mein…

Sagar: Vidya come on!

Vidya: Can anyone say no to you?

Sagar: No!

Vidya: Okay fine. Chalo.

Vidya wiped her tears and walked out of the door with Sagar.

aww poor Vidya! I though Sanjana was older. Anyway she acts so selfish! I wonder what happened to her Mom, 😭 like how did she die? great update!

wow Vs mom is dead!!! i wonder what happend...i have a feeeling she committed suicide cuz not enough money was available anyway....aww tehy are going to watch a movie...sagar is not as heavy headed as he looks
