J.K. Rowling Named Barbara Walters' "Most Fascinating Person of 2007"
Every year, noted television personality and news reporter Barbara Walters hosts her special "10 Most Fascinating People" of the year program. The program, which is due to air here in the States at 10pm tonight, was broadcast earlier in Canada, with Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling named as the Most Fascinating person for 2007. TLC reader Samantha reports that while it was exciting to see this revealed, there is only older footage of our favorite author, and no new interview. Others in the program included the Beckhams, singer Justin Timberlake, MySpace creators Chris DeWolfe and Tom Anderson, radio host Don Imus, singer and actress Jennifer Hudson, and former President of the United States Bill Clinton. The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2007 program will be broadcast tonight on the ABC television network at 10pm (ET).

Empire Names Rickman, Oldman, Watson, and Radcliffe Among 100 Sexiest Movie Stars
All the girls love a bad boy and no one does bad better than Alan Rickman. It's the voice that does it, that and a commanding screen presence. Such is his ability to give good evil that he even makes the oily Professor Severus Snape somehow attractive.
Following at number 72, Gary Oldman makes his place on the list for giving "even the most horrific characters a sexy edge," while Emma Watson comes in at 26 with the note: "She's grown up well through the Harry Potter movies from bushy haired child to confident, elegant young woman."
Finally, they say of Dan Radcliffe, who placed at number 23 in the rankings:
It seems like only yesterday that young master Potter first walked into Hogwarts, now he's getting his kit off in the West End – how soon they grow up. Having developed into a confident and fine-looking young actor, Radcliffe's future looks very bright indeed.

J.K. Rowling Attends British Comedy Awards
Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling attended the British Comedy Awards last night in London, England. Online reports say that Jo presented actor Stephen Fry (narrator of the UK Harry Potter audio books) with a lifetime achievement award. Host Jonathan Ross also joked with our favorite author when he "cheekily asked her to sign a book for him, not one of her own Harry Potter ones but a tome by rival kiddie author Philip Pullman! She gamely played along." The Daily Mail has a good photo of Jo at this event here. You can also see some very small photos of JKR at this event (and with the book)here via Rex.
