I agree the all of the women in MAM are portrayed negative and are opressed but maybe the show is trying to show that this is what happens to women in real life. Let's face the truth- this stuff happens! I feel as the show progresses the women will learn to break the stereotype through their growth. I feel this may happen now with Nimmi.. I hope it does.

yes i totally agree with u . this show's story is the reality of this world. MAM show portrays each and every character very well in its own way, whether good or bad. so , we have 2 accept it and get entertained. of course at the end surely good will win. so lets wait for shantiya and sarla, and that pari stupid to realize their mistakes.

Except Riya, Bunty and Pari's younger sis who disappeared, there is no other woman who is sane and positive in complete. But i like Nimmi though. But still she's just like her mom and Preeti..who can turn tables at anytime for Riya.

Its different in most urban areas but there is more to india than just metropolitan cities . The entire country hasn't progressed at the same pace . Majority of it is still living with such ideas .Even educated people find it hard to let go of old ideals .Things are still as stagnant in some places as they were a decade back.

Though they do take it too far with people like sarla and pari.

uhh yeah leaving ur high paid job for a guy who doesnt give a shit and was easily forgiven...not every woman is like riya who would still want to cringe to a husband like shivam...who easily believed pari and was ready to slap her despite knowing how pari is and not ready to listening to the other side's story

infact 20-30 years ago, women in Goa were very liberated...infact i think, its very common, in the south part of the country...right from Maharashtra-Goa to states of the south...where women have more freedom, as compared to the northern states

I wholeheartedly agree that they really screw up some characters to add in drama but yes i do agree with the TM that there portrayal if women such as probably kaushalya initially and some situations where they treat women in certain ways is very real.

Also goa is terrotorially small but its a major tourist attraction and coupled with its history its a very liberated state again in the sense of say clothes and habits . Saying a place is liberated would have to be done by judging peoples mentalities which is changing but its still quite stagnant often despite them living in metropolitan areas.

I had done an internship in rajasthan and it was a rude shock to see the state of things there and what was more surprising that the women thought that was absolutely normal .so if you ask them something like isnt that a problem they ll probably say why would it be one . Its when I realized that growing up in delhi i just naturally thought the rest of the country is just the same but it's not .

There are so many small things dowry , many states even in south do not allow jeans in universities , these are all just curbing women which we can see and it becomes a news . In everyday life there are more things . I dont therefore think they are exaggerating some things but definitely they messed up some characters and showed some really annoying tracks for drama and trps .
