I love this show..really really do..which is why the portrayal of the mental health setup shown in yesterday's episode really bugged me..for a show which went out of its way to show artificial intelligence and an a humanoid female lead, it was disheartening to see it reinforcing the age old stereotype of a mental health clinic..no psychiatrist in his right mind simply "informs" ward boys that a patient is coming..and definitely ward boys to not catch hold of any random person, no matter how incredible he sounds, and admits him..they do not have the accumen or legal authority to do so..especially when there is no guardian or informant with the patient..and going by the precap, apparently the myth of random "electric shock" is going to be used..and thanx to this, the absolutely brilliant treatment option of Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) is going to be demonized as usual..
It is my humble request to the creatives and viewers alike to understand what exactly ECT is..it is a procedure similar to a surgical one..the patient is hardly dragged and given electric currents..it is done under General anaesthesia with a muscle relaxant given so that the patient does not have pain or memory of the procedure.. and not to mention it is one of the most effective treatments for psychiatric illnesses, It has the fastest effects and no side effects of the usual drugs..
Portraying it in this shoddy manner, even if as a method to elicit humor, is not a responsible action on the part of the creatives..it is only enabling the fear that common man already has, of mental illnesses and their treatment..
I don't actually expect any replies to my post..but even if the members of this forum read it and become aware of the realities of mental health setups, my intention of making this post is fulfilled..

unfortunately serial makers are very ignorant in most things. esp when it comes to the medical profession. which in almost all serials are shown in a very sloppy and silly manner
all they care is to show their OTT drama or in this case attempted humour

Somehow, I think we should be ready for such stuff. After all its a Bamako show 😆
Edit: I am so sorry. I meant Balaji but stupid autocorrect corrects it the way it likes 😆

i am a doctor too and aspiring to be a psychiatrist..and i agree with u..
Having observed a lot during psychiatry postibgs as a medical student what they show in serials n movies is ridiculous.. it will b good if they do a bit research about how mental health set up works before showing..
As expected most of audience will b housewives and mpst of them might b thinking what they show is correct and stigmatize mental health.. hope makers realize this soon..
