Shraddha Kapoor and Alia Bhatt on whether they will ever take a break like Parineeti Chopra

Parineeti Chopra's last film Kill Dil released in 2014. She took some time off, right at the peak of her career to work on herself. She worked hard and lost oodles of weight. She stunned everyone around with her jaw-dropping makeover and now has a huge line-up of films.

She's shooting for YRF's Meri Pyaari Bindu and has signed a film opposite Mahesh Babu down South. Along with that, she is also romancing Sushant Singh Rajput in Homi Adajania's Takadum. So certainly, the break has not put brakes on her career.

We asked both her contemporaries Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor whether they would ever risk taking such a break in the prime of their careers. Here's what they had to say...

I can't think of a break till the end of this year. I have many films to complete. I don't know about taking a year or two years off from work. But there's one thing I strictly follow. If I don't get a film I would love to do, I won't take up any film just for the sake of it. So if I am in that situation, I would wait for something substantial and rather spend my time in doing something else that I love doing " maybe travel or do a course. But that's only if such a situation arises. If I'm not, I will be happy to keep doing as many films as I can. As for Pari, she wanted to take it, maybe that's why she took it...

"I would not mind. It's great to take a break and then come back rejuvenated and refreshed. I am slumped with work for the past few years. So much that I hardly get to take a break. But it won't mean that I won't work at all for years. It is definitely a risk for sure. When you are at a particular stage in your career, it might prove detrimental to your growth but then again, if you are preparing yourself for something and have to take a break for a specific reason, then why not? I guess Parineeti too took a break for a reason and not ainvayi. She is doing so many great films now."
