TRP toppers this week; latest TB article

10th position: Suhani si ek ladki
9th: Diya aur Bati Hum and Sasural Simar ka..1.5 pts
8th: Comedy nights bachao and Comedy nights live; 1.7 pts
7th: Shakti...astitva ke ehsaas kii, Swaragini and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 1.8 pts
6th: Ek that raja ek this Rani;1.9 pts
5th: Yeh rishta... and Kasam there pyar ki; 2.2pts
4th: Kavach...Kaali shaktiyon she; 2.5 pts
3rd: Kumkum bhagya 2.6 pts
2nd: Saath nibhana saathiya
1st: Yeh hai mohabbatein 3.2 pts

Just see for yourself, out of the 10 top slots...2 are related to supernatural series... How many out of these do you watch...Actually I watch none of them...really... I wonder how people see these never ending series like DABH, SSK, YRKKH, KB , SNS and YHM...
Because of such TRPs, the makers are encouraged to present such nonsense on TV. Wat say?

agree with u dear .top slots are always supernatural stuff .I don't way understand that how people tolerate that sasural simar la.it's soo bakwas first the lead became a makhi then now she Peggy with a devils child stupidity

I am also wondering how this trp system works in Indian TV? All top shows are craps. We can't blame PH and channels too. Even Ekta Kapoor came with a realistic show like Pyaar Ko Ho Jane Do. Best show ever she produced with strong content like spy and terrorism in India and Pakistan. But because of low trp the had to end the show. Even Ekta Kapoor failed when she came with realistic content. Realistic shows like Reporters, Meri Awaaz Hi Pehachaan Hai, Tamanna, Dehleez never had TRPs. So v can't blame channels and PH. TRP aunties are not ready to move on. Towards the end of the day it's a business for channel and PH.

agree with u uma I had read somewhere that most of the trp comes from rural areas where people prefer stupid sas bahu sagas supernatural stuff etc .all because of this good shows are neglected

I wonder how long this trp system would continue like this... For their business sake, good sensible shows are prematurely taken off air...so sad...we don't even get good serials related to doctors... Whenever there is a medical series, it ultimately ends up with their usual stuff, nothing interesting for us...

I have seen a good medical series Zindagi Wins which dealt with medical issues in each episodes along with organ trafficking stuffs but that show too got shut within 25 episodes because of low TRPs
English, Korean and Pakistan have excellent to shows with realistic content. I can't understand why Indian audience prefer drama and Bhoots?

agree with u Manisha Ktlk which I was talking about was such a wonderful series about love story of 2 doctors with hospital background but again cause of low trp in ended

I think first v have to ban this TRP system
I have heard in early 90s Doordarshan Channel had brought excellent shows and TRPs have came much later than that
