But it's clear that he never gave her the love and respect she needed and carried on living his life without thinking about how it would affect his wife. Actually Jhanvi looks like the sacrificial bull at the alter. Tej might have had married her as a power leverage and then dumped her because she wasn't cut out of the cloth that he wanted her to. She is ambition-less and isn't lusting after power, fame or money. Svetlana on the other hand is everything that Tej wants in his counter-measure to be so that is the reason why he has drifted to her instead of his wife and Jhanvi seeing the same has decided to plunge in her sorrow that trying to fight back!
