In an interview for the promotions of Do Lafzon Ki Kahani, actor Randeep Hooda on being asked to comment about his character in Salman Khan's upcoming sport drama, Sultan said,

"In Kick, my role was a full-fledged one while in Sultan I have a small role. It's a chapter in Sultan's life."

The actor also spoke about his long lasting career in Bollywood,

"I cannot complain about the industry as I have always got work. I took a break for three years not because of lack of work but because of lack of quality work. The industry has been kind to me. Once when I was lying in bed with a broken leg, Naseer bhai (Naseeruddin Shah) told me that the one thing I was doing wrong was planning my career. He said Don't plan your career; it will take its shape.' So that is what I have been doing.
