Mere Dil Ki Sadaa..The sun shed its last rays on Karachi as the evening drew near, dancing on the crystalline marble structure of the huge mansion, coloring it beautiful colors of rainbow.
The mansion was crazily crowded and busy as the ocassion was special too.
The workers ran about in hurry, tangled in fairy lights of different colors as it had to put up.
While some huffed and ran about the silk curtains that had to be put up, and that too not the regular ones which normally adorned this beautiful place.
Amidst this, the giggle of girls and the sound of their anklets were heard as they hopped about and ran upstairs through the marble staircase to a room which consisted of woman sure, but the center of attraction was doe eyed beauty, whose hazel eyes were downcast and somewhat shy, and she wasn't to be blamed cuz the ocassion was special.
"Haya?" An elderly voice spoke up, hence disrupting and dispersing all the girls who had crowded around her like a queen bee.
Haya looked up at the source of voice, as her face got adorned with a smile.
"Ji Ammi?" She spoke up softly.
"Chalo tumne taiyaar kar deti hoon. Inn ladkiyon se kuch nahi hona." Huma Begum spoke up as she came up to her daughter in law.
Haya smiled and nodded, hence Huma Begum dispersed off all the extra crowd in her room and called in some other women to help.
First, she was asked to change into the Crimson Pink Colored Lehenga that was brought in for her which she did.
The outfit was a bit heavy, but at the same time beautiful as intricate designs were carved into it with golden and silver threads, after which she was made to sit down on a chair facing the mirror.
Her hair was unclasped from the pin holding it and was allowed to fall in its full glory which was nothing short of below her waist.
As other's worked on her, Haya got the time to do plenty of thinking about the change of events that happened in her life for the last few months.
It seemed as if yesterday, she was there performing on the stage which was her first love.
The ocassion was of completion of glorious 60 years of her University, and being the best dance that it boasted was, Haya was to perform a single kathak number on a melodious soulful Classical Song.
Prestigious Personalities were called as chief guests and she didn't know everyone except 1 or 2.
It was only after her performance, backstage that her friend, Zoya had excitedly pointed out that she was so mesmerizing that Arhaan Yusuf's eyes hadn't moved from her.
She wasn't aware of the name her friend had taken, and asked again about him. Zoya had then told her that Arhaan was among the emerging business tycoon's of Karachi and the turnover of his company was seriously challenging the other oldies in the field.
Haya had not taken it seriously then, thinking that maybe her friend was bluffing too much.
But she had been thrown out of her wits when one day, after returning from University, she saw her mother in an extra joyous mood and when asked, she told Haya that Arhaan's mother Huma Begum (Her mother further told her, that Arhaan's father passed away when he was young.) was here this morning and had happily asked for the hand of Haya for her son.
Every mother wants her daughter to be happy and reign like a queen when she's married, Haya's mother said yes even without thinking twice.
After this, the events in her life turned so quickly that she had a tough time in keeping track with them. But things came back to a slow peaceful halt when Arhaan came up.
The first time, he came up with his mother Haya could not help but think that how could he be a business man?
Soft Spoken, Polite, Well Mannered and amazingly witty.
Well, Arhaan had gained a lifelong fangirl in her mother as she just couldn't stop talking or gushing about him.
His eyes had never left Haya ever since she came in with tea, dressed in a simple blue suit, but guess his eyes didn't make her uncomfortable.
Arhaan knotted his tie and pushed it up, straightening the collar of his shirt.
He ran a hand through his dark brown hair to settle it and smiled a bit that accentuated his handsome features.
He then took the coat and wore it over himself which perfectly fitted his chiseled arms and strong physique, buttoning up his shirt cuffs.
Haya smiled as she applied the kohl in her hazel eyes making it more beautiful, as Huma Begum delicately weaved the necklace filled with semi precious jewels around her neck.
Apart from being a business tycoon, Arhaan was much much more and this she had gotten to know after their marriage was finalized and fixed by the elders.
It was during one of the initial visits to their home where Arhaan had insisted her to drop home to which Haya had reluctantly agreed. They were very much quiet during the drive as perhaps both didn't know what to say.
They were at a red light, waiting for the signal to turn green when both saw an old man who was perhaps a local newspaper vendor. His age hadn't helped him a bit and his stack of newspapers fell down on the road. Being heavy, he wasn't able to pick it up singlehandedly and no one had bothered to help him, rather pass him by with an air of ignorance.
Arhaan sighed and shook his head, turned off the ignition and got out of the car, closing the door behind him.
Haya looked out of the window and saw him walking up to that man, helped him in picking up one bunch of newspaper and then picked up one himself and helped him cross the road.
The old man blessed him abundantly making Arhaan smile and unknowingly a smile graced Haya's face too.
Tum Pyaar Bhi Ho, Ehsaas Bhi..
Arhaan came back as he got inside the car, and saw Haya smiling at him which gave him a reason to smile too.
A woman delicately locked the matching earrings in Haya's ears and pinned the chain attached to it in her hair. The jhumkas dangled beautifully in her ears making a soft melodious sound.
She remembered that one time, when she had called him continuously as her mother wanted to discuss something with him but he hadnt picked up her call, as he was busy in a meeting. This had upset her a bit but the next morning she had fresh red roses delivered at her doorstep with a cute Sorry message written by Arhaan. Almost that very moment, her sadness had washed away like a wave and she had smiled, sending him a thank you message later.
Durr Bhi Ho, Aur Paas Bhi..
Haya smiled again as a woman made her wore the glass bangles first and then the Khandaani Kaday which were made of pure gold and were bejeweled with precious stones, it fitted on her wrists like silk making them look beautiful with a melodious jingling sound.
Well, she knew Arhaan to be everything but notorious, and that day he had proved her horribly wrong.
It was their first dinner date that in a posh five star restaurant.
She was obviously nervous as she wasn't used to all of this, but Arhaan was there to not to make her feel left out.
They were laughing to some joke that Arhaan had shared, and then took up the menu card as he had insisted her to order for both of them.
A couple of girls entered through the glass door enterence, and Arhaan looked at Haya once with mischievous eyes and then turned to look at the girls. Haya who looked up from the menu card to ask him something saw Arhaan looking at other girls and snapped at his hand making him look at her instant.
"What?" He mouthed, his face gleaming with a mischievous smile while Haya looked at him with narrowed eyes.
Sharaarati Ho, Par Bharosa Bhi..
Haya laughed a little as she looked at the mehendi in her palms that had taken a gorgeous maroon color, she can very clearly make out that little A that was hidden in her designs but Arhaan hadn't been able to find it last night.
Her hair was beautifully tied up in a bun and was now weaved delicately with fresh flowers that filled up her hair with a sweet fragrance.
Their marriage was fixed by their families true, but Arhaan had made sure that she didn't feel like she was being transported to him like some property.
He had requested her to come with him to the reunion party that was organized by his Business School every year. Haya had agreed and he had very graciously introduced her to all of his friends as his fiancee and to be Mrs Arhaan Yusuf.
Contrary to her belief, she had a good time and it was quite late when they walked out towards their car.
Haya shivered a bit, as the cold breeze gave goosebumps to her skin. Arhaan understood her situation and being a thorough gentleman that was in his genes, gave her his coat. Haya thanked him as she felt a bit warm and put up her hands in the pocket.
But she felt something in it and took it out. Much to her surprise, it was a gorgeous diamond ring and she looked at Arhaan.
"Shaadi arranged hai. Pyaar toh nahi naa." He smiled and then gently taking the ring from her made her wore it.
Haya smiled as she looked at the diamond ring that was now on her finger, shining beautifully.
Aur Khushiyon Ka Sandesa Bhi..
Last Minute touchups, were now being given to Haya as the dupatta was draped and attached to her beautifully. The Maangtika was delicately pinned up to her hair completing her look altogether and was made to stand up.
Huma Begum applied a kohl dot at the back of her neck and blessed her happily.
Just then, Haya's father came in and offered his hand to her daughter as he would be taking her down. Haya smiled and gave her hand in his.
They walked down the marble staircase and made their way out through the door.
The huge lawn in front was beautifully decorated and boasted of a fountain in the middle. After all, it was the reception of the newly married Mrs and Mr Arhaan.
Haya had a small shy smile that played on her beautiful face, but her Hazel eyes were looking for someone.
Everyone turned to look up at the new bride who just came down and were mesmerized by her beauty, Haya acknowledged all with a smile, but her eyes were looking for someone but he wasn't to be seen.
When, a group of Arhaan's male friends shifted aside to reveal him, as he looked at his wife with a soft smile on his face.
Haya's face lit up as she saw him, her hazel eyes warm. Arhaan walked towards her and forwarded his hand.
Sab Kuch Ho, Par Sabse Judaa..
Haya smiled and gave her hand in his, as he held it firmly.
As they both knew, that they won't be leaving it ever..
Mujhe Lagta Hai Mere Dil Ki Sadaa Ho..
The End..
