MY TIME TO SHINE
Part One
It has been ten years now since AarYa got their Punar Vivah.
Flashback
Theirs was an arranged marriage with Prateek being the chief reason behind their union, another their kids Ansh, Palak, and Payal. The first year was the most difficult for them they were two strangers who refused to get to know each other or change their attitude for life.
Aarti an orphan abandoned in an orphanage in Indore by her grandparents, uncles, and aunts at the age of eight, she dreamt of the love of parents in fact this was her life's goal to be a part of a loving family to be accepted by a family and society. Aarti received a scholarship from a business in Bhopal they were a profitable family business who wanted to give back to the underprivileged like Aarti an orphan girl a chance to attend collage. Mr SP Scindhia believed in helping bright young girls achieved their goals, and move ahead in life. While in Bhopal she met Prashant during her final year Aarti who majored in business studies, and accounting although she is a gifted artist she decided that business studies was the way to go a guaranteed way of getting a job. Aarti worked her way through collage part time she had a job with the accounting firm handling the Scindhia's Event Management company business.
During her four year stay in Bhopal working at the firm she heard talk from the young girls employed their about the Scindhia family especially the middle son how pleasant he was always smiling and the politeness he showed to all; They spoke of how handsome, and muscular he is. Aarti got a few glances of him and she felt something just in a look a couple of times when they met by accident sometimes bumping into each other they would share a smile both too shy to go beyond that.
Mr SP Scindhia heard from his accountant what a good job Aarti did they sang praises of the gifted girl, he met her and thought she could be the perfect bahu for his family if only she was not an orphan, his wife and sister would not accept her for their Yash.
Yash had completed his studies in business his major to follow in his bauji footsteps, but he too was a gifted artist so he did some courses in art which will help in the family business as a designer; soon because of his people skills, good sense and taste for design he became ahouse hold name sort after for major projects. Yash was not ready for a serious relationship but being an obedient son he agreed to an arranged marriage. His mother G3 chose the girl convinced her husband to agree and got Vidhi her eldest bahu to convince Yash into acceptance. Yash being the good son came to the conclusion that if his parents choose this girl then she must be his perfect partner for life after all your parents knows best, they can't be wrong.
The marriage took place within two weeks of his acceptance they were both young and shy, G3 loved Aripta after all she is her choice soon she begun to play favourite between Vidhi and Aripta with Vidhi losing out always being scolded or insulted by their saas in favour of Aripta.
Yash was young and he accepted everything without question he was doing extremely well in business his bauji, and bhayia were proud of his success giving him more responsibility, at home his wife, ma, bhabhi and bua were proud of him. Unknown to all sometimes this innocent girl's face with her sweet smile would pop up in his mind bring a smile to his face; he remembered she was tall, sexy, beautiful, with a long neck, and beautiful expressive eyes; he knew she was collage student working their part time but in the last few years he would no longer see her there he was curious but did not ask anyone about her because it would not look right a married man inquiring about a girl, she probably got married and moved on in life he thought but that did not stop him from remembering her. One time during his honeymoon with Aripta he sensed that she was close to him and he got an aroma of her but he shook that feeling off when he looked around and did not see her and continued to set the camera to take a picture of him and Aripta.
Aarti was convinced that what she and Prashant had were real he was kind, and loving towards her, and she felt special with his attention. Prashant introduced her to his parents when they visited him from Indore Aarti loved his parents may be more than she loved Prashant they treated her with love and were very accepting of her it mattered not that she is a poor orphan on scholarship. When Prashant opposed marriage she accepted moving back to Indore with him they had a small family wedding in a temple with the relatives whispering she is an orphan, and Prashant could of done better that her, how she is dark and plain jane. May be she is after the family wealth. Shoba loved her bahu she taught Aarti how to cook and house work, Dubey bauji loved her because she was damn good business woman a lot better than his Prashant who seemed to fail at all her tried. Aarti worked in their families supply business while Prashant tried working for various different companies this is where he met Neda she was a receptionist in one of the companies modern in thinking with dreams of success. Both she and Prashant had a lot in common soon friendship turned into being lovers they both enjoyed life together, supported each other in their dreams. Prashant soon realized that marry Aarti was a mistake she was not the one for him he felt trapped with her and he became abusive both mentally and physically. They were married only a few short months, then she told him that she is pregnant Prashant felt like a drowning man trying to survive against the tide, he could not handle this unwanted relationship and on the other hand he wanted his love Neda so he divorced Aarti and left his parent's home to be with his love. His parents loved Aarti and she loved them they behaved like he was the outsider not their son and she their bahu but she is their batie and he the jamal, so they could continue living together for all he cared; and that child he refused to accept it as his she was friendly with the few male employees, and the male customers, who knows what if she slept with one of them because her surely was not sleeping with her not since he met Neda he was true and honest with his Neda who knows what that poor orphan was up to in the night calming that she was out on business to ma and bauji. May be what his relatives said was the truth she is just a gold digger who wanted him out of the picture so she could control his parents.
Aarti had a stressful lonely pregnancy her ex in laws tried their best to keep her spirts up she found solace with her work she work from home long hours ensuring that the business thrived Shoba loved her bahu and happily worked alongside her they needed larger warehouse and more staff their cliental grew, they were the suppliers of lights, tents, tables, chairs everything needed [utensils, cutlery, table cloth, napkins]by a catering company Aarti moved their business into the twenty first century through the use of computers. The relatives became envious of the Dubeys their wealth was increasing and they threw out the son of the family for that orphan woman and her unborn child; they started their bad mouthing the family, demanding a share of the profits it became too much for the Dubeys that Shoba had an accident at home she felt dizzy after heated argument with her elder Bhabhi, she fell down the stairs and broke her leg, which had to be in a cast for months, she had high blood pressure, and diabetes. Dubey Ji his family kept coming over arguing forcing them to turn their backs on Aarti and accept Prashant and his new wife Neda to take the business and give it to Prashant his son. It was too much for Dubey ji he had a heart attack. Now aarti was in her last trimester and she took care of her in laws she never abandoned them or their business or home.
Aarti went to the hospital by herself in her labour pains delivered Ansh in the early morning and discharged herself in the late afternoon because she is committed to her in laws who loved her like their own daughter she took the tiny baby boy home whom she named Ansh.
Six months later Aarti moved her family to Bhopal she worked hard to get a comfortable house close to the hospital to buy; the house was large enough for them with four bed rooms, two complete washrooms upstairs and a large master bedroom downstairs for her parents. The house in Indore she rented out, the ware house remained there to serve their Indore clients they had a trustworthy staff to manage the warehouse. In Bhopal she opened a branch of their business small at first but it also grew when word spread about their service and reliability. The SEMC became one of their largest customer throughout the years Aarti or her bauji never had any direct dealings with the Scindhias they dealt with their staff.
Ansh grew up quickly when he started school he asked where are his father and Aarti told that he is far away, when Ansh learnt to write he begun to write letters to his dad asking for gifts usually toys. Aarti brought all the gifts for him and cards allowing the child to think that his dad had sent them. As Ansh grew he kept asking why don't his father visit him if he doesn't love him Aarti was confused she had no clue what to do. Finally she told him that his dad will not be a part of their life. Ansh was so hurt and disappointed he kept on throwing tantrums demanding a father he wanted to be like other little boys with their dad, his school mates teased him for not having a father. This caused so much stress in the lives of the Dubeys because they knew not what to do. The wrong man entering their lives could lead to problems for not only Aarti and Ansh but also them when he realizes that the house, and business is on Aarti's name. Plus there was the fact that Aarti refuses to marry again she still held on to the hope that Prashant would divorce Neda and return to her, she still believed that she loved him and she wanted him to return for Ansh and her parents sake she knew that they missed their child.
At the SM Yash's wife of four years died in a tragic accident three years before and he just threw himself into his work neglecting his family his daughters barely knew him. The girls were spoilt by their dadi ji and bua dadi ji they were anti-social in school always getting into fights with their classmates. Prateek his youngest brother was deeply in love with a modern girl his collage sweetheart his parents were against the relationship seeing that they are a traditional family and believed in arranged marriages and this girl was a working girl who had some habits that the elder Scindhia ladies considered as shameful. Prateek is determine to marry her and he needed to convince his family of the same but they wanted Yash to get his Punar Vivah first; this met opposition from Yash who believed that Aripta is the love of his life, and he wanted to stay true to a promise he had made to her of never giving her place in his heart to another woman or allowing another woman to be the mother of his children.
Yash kept his room exactly how his dead wife left it as a shrine to her, since his wife's death he still had times when he saw the smiling face of the unknown girl , her face and body was as plain as the day he remembered everything about her where as he needed a constant reminder of his beloved Aripta her picture were the screen saver of his phone his laptop, and in his wallet he had pitcures of Aripta to constantly look at throughout the day and night, He had to constantly reassure himself throughout his marriage and after Aripta's death that the stranger girl meant nothing to him that it is Aripta he loves his late wife is the one true love of his life.
On day while at the wedding of an important client he felt the presence of someone familiar; as the time passed he is sure he got that familiar sent but he saw no one like that girl. Then it was time for the bride and groom to exchange the garlands, he bumped someone a girl and again experienced the familiar jolt and fragrance but he did not see her face just her back at it was sexy. Time to showered the happy couple with rose petals and the machinery mal functioned he tried manually but the flowers landed on her friend instead he noticed her expression of shock and he too was shocked it was her, the stranger girl who had been haunting him all these years. The rest of the wedding passed without any hiccups but he was kept busy so he did not get a chance to meet her and besides it was a good thing to avoid her keeping true to his promise to Aripta.
Aarti and her family was at the wedding of her best friend Mansi, both families were good friends with the fathers being old schoolmates. Before the wedding started Aarti was abused by a stupid judgemental lady who wanted Aarti for her bahu then rejected her when she found out that Aarti is a divorcee with a son. Shoba defended Aarti and stated that she will find the perfect one for Aarti's Punar Vivah.
While she was walking with Mansi she bumped into some one and she felt a familiar sensation and smelled a familiar smell but she was too upset to react to anything, then the flowers fell on her instead of on Mansi.
On the drive back home she reminisced on her short life with Prashant the happy times before all became messed up Aarti chose to remember only the happy times this was a means to protect herself from pain. Ansh slept throughout the drive home but was his naughty self once they arrived home she made puris for him but he was in a playful mode Shoba fed him while she showered and changed. Aarti found the rose petal in her hair and remembered the incident she remembered the glimpse she had of someone familiar a face from her past then it dawn it was Yash Scindhia they were the wedding planners hired for Mansi's wedding he looked older but it was him she is sure of it, he had be a constant memory when she had thought of happier times in her life, although they never spoke he was always polite and smiled at her every time their paths crossed. Shoba ma brought in a sleepy Ansh and helped him to bed, she noticed Aarti lost in thought "Beta don't take what that lady said to heart, I know you are worried for Ansh if god permits we will find the one to get your Punar Vivah done and will be the perfect father and life partner for you." She embraced Aarti this girl is the daughter she always wanted and as her mother it is her right to protect her and find the best man to be her life partner.
"Ma why is fate so cruel to me why did god take away my parents, then my own relative did not want me, then Prashant left me and my unborn baby was I not a good person, a good wife I did what I was told yet all that I love is taken away from me " she cried
"Not all beta Ansh you son, bauji, and I are here with you beta we will always be here we love you and you love us very much so god is still on your side, have faith he is out there the perfect one for you when the time is correct he will reveal himself to you."
"Ma I don't know if I will be able to trust anyone again after Prashant. I love him so much and he cheated me. I wish he could see the truth of his life and return home to you, bauji and his son, we could be a family again and in time he could learn to love and accept me as his wife again."
"Aarti stop holding on to false hope he is gone his life is with another woman it has been nearly six years and you still hold on to false hope. Beta Prashant is my son but I am telling you forget him you will find someone a thousand time better than him. Your life partner, your soulmate is still out there when the time is right you will find eachother Prashant was just a bump in the road of your life a hurdle in your journey. Beta have fait all thing happen for a reason" she hugged her daughter and kissed her on the forehead then tok her leave.
Dubey ji" Shoba we have to do something to bring back the happiness the bright smile back on our daughter's face remember when we first met her you said that the sun shines in her eyes she is so pure and full of love, that you wish god had given to us Aarti as our child"
"Yes ji I remember we have to convince her to move on that it will be in Ansh's interest if she marries again for that we have to find a good, kind man who is willing to accept both of them"
At Sm Yash arrived as usuall there were photos of women his mother had chosen and she wanted him to look at them and as usuall he was not interested in any. Vidhi tried once again to convience him but he sat down lost in his own thought "Beta is everything Okay did the wedding take place ok?"
"yes ma it did but I made a blunder and showered the rose petals on the brides friend instead of her."
"Was she beautiful bhayia that is why you made this mistake" asked Prateek coming with a plate of snacks "She must have been stunning for you to make a mistake "he teased
Yash was visible upset and he left to his room to seek solace with Artipta's pictures before he prepared for bed Vidhi tried to coax him to have supper "Yash you don't take proper care of yourself, you work to hard spend some time with the family your daughters miss you"
"Bhabhi we are busy this season I can't spare the time besides the girls have all of you. Ma and bua takes good care of them; I see them when they are awake and I am home early it is not like I have handed over my responsibilities for them over to strangers they are with their family."
The following morning SP, and Pankaj sent Prateek to the Dubeys to retrieve their money for they believed that the Dubeys give them bad goods and wanted to end their business relationship with them
Prateek arrived at the Dubeys with a worker Aarti was on her way to drop Ansh to school they met outside the house "Namaste who are you?" asked Aarti
"I am hare to speak t Mr. Dubey."
"Why what do you want to say?"
"I came from the SEMC to get our money back for the poor lights sold to us "
"Oh so Mr Scindhia sent his lackey to intimidate me you go back and tell him that Aarti Dubey don't scare so easily. I have explained countless times that the lights are working you need a specific voltage for them to work properly yet you people fail to understand. Tell him I will not be returning the money in fact I will be personally coming to your office to collect the reminder of the payment. Well go leave!"
Ansh fisted his little hands how dare this man speak to my ma like that he repeated his mother's words "GO! LEAVE!!"
Prateek decided that he will be stubborn he did not want to fail his family with this small task so he sat down and demanded that he wanted to speak with Mr Dubey.
Aarti took one look at him and went got her hockey stick and returned she walked up to the startled men "I was the captain of my collage hockey team I still can shoot a goal " and she held the stick in a position to hit them first the worker ran back to the car but Prateek continued to be stubborn "Look Madam just return the money "
" NO! You heard me Get Out! And I am coming for my payment " she swung the stick to hit him but he ran out of her reach to his car. "He told his friend that lady is dangerous"
Back at the SM Prateek came and sat quietly at his Yash bhayia side "Chote did you get the money what did Mr Dubey have to say?"
"Bhayia Mr Dubey hired goons a female and a pocket size one they refuse to give the money."
"Chote call them now let me speak to Mr Dubey." Prateek dialled the number and give him the phone
"Hello Dubey's residence how can I help?"
"This is Scindhia Yash Scindhia speaking I want to speak to Mr Dubey"
"OH so your lackey told you I will not be returning the money in fact I will be coming to you for the reminder of the payment"
"look madam I want to speak to Mr Dubey not to some worker."
"Worker! Look Mr you will deal with me and the reason why you have this problem is because you are an arrogant chauvinist pig just like your male workers! I explained in details to your engineer that the lights work with a specific voltage he said that he understood, how is it my problem if there is a lack of communication between you, and your employees. You men think you rule the world and we women are your slaves not capable of running a successful business. You better pay me my money Mr Yash Scindhia or we will settle this in court."
"Look madam I was not aware of the facts you will have your payment, and I don't like women who speaks so much" and he slammed the phone.
