That phone call to sanjay. .

In the previous episode, when dharaa runs from home and is looking for an auto to see basheer at the hospital, she calls sanjay n tells him about the incident on last night. Why did she call him? If it was only to inform him then why.. why to inform him? Because she still has bad opinion about him for his "dusre dharm" mindset.

He kept warning Dharaa in previous few episodes. Maybe after this Basheer incident , she realized her mistake of ignoring Sanjay's warning and thought of calling him.

I don't think Dharaa had a particular purpose in mind when she called Sanjay. It's just that she knows that some dirty politics was involved and in her panic mode, her first thought was to contact Sanjay to hear his opinion. Of course, it's another thing that she doesn't follow his advice.

Even when these politicians threatened the two students' parents, Dharaa later on discusses the matter with Sanjay to know his opinion since he is knowledgeable about these things. But here too, when Sanjay offers to deal with the matter, she refuses his help.

I think as much as Dhara acts like she doesn't need anyone's help, including Sanjay, she appreciates his support and unconsciously needs him. She knows he's her go to man.

Dharaa prides herself for taking care of herself and she did try when both the politicians came to subtly threaten her. She thought that she made it clear to them that she will not be bullied.

But Dharaa did not realize that the evil politicians will use Basheer to prove their point.

She had an inkling of fear when she saw Basheer and that letter that she had not written and she did try to stop him but to no avail.

So when she was surrounded by the muslim gang and looked like they were not going to listen to reason she had no choice but to call the one person she knew could help her out of trouble at that time.

She knew that no matter what he thinks of the other religion he would not ignore her plea of help when she needed it the most. So she called him and he did exactly that saved her from a dire situation that she could not come out of by herself.
