So I guess the past several episodes must have been intensely heartrending for all of us, powerful and poignant as they were. I've been going around feeling very wistful and melancholic indeed, at the situation our golden couple are in right now. And VK's and Helly's performances have been superbly top notch, making us all the more emotionally involved.
What can I say about VK which hasn't been said already---he really lives and breathes Sanskaar. Each time a superlative SwaSan scene comes along where he aces Sanskaar's emotions, I feel this is the very best I've ever seen an actor perform on TV. And then another scene comes by, which takes my breath away all over again. He was just magnificent in the recent episodes, his utter anguish at being separated from Swara coming through so palpably. His forlorn imagination of having Swara back in his arms, dancing with her, was so very, very poignant. As was the way he steels himself, with his customary grit and resolve, that Swara is still alive---how could she not be, when his heart still beats and he still draws breath?
What struck me especially, was the yin--yang symmetry between Sanskaar and Swara's emotions. Sanskaar finds solace and courage for his battered yet hopeful heart, by feeling Swara's presence, even though she isn't physically with him. But Swara, caught in the grips of her amnesia, in a kind of inverted mirror image of Sanskaar's emotions, feels an absence. An absence of whom, she just doesn't know. But like a constant, throbbing pain whose source we aren't sure of, Swara just knows that someone very precious to her, who means the world to her, is missing from her life. Its like having a void you can't put your finger on. Not knowing why something hurts so badly---just that it does.
This cosmic connect reminded me of an old story in Chinese folklore, called The Red String of Fate. According to this tale, the Gods tie an invisible red cord around the ankles of two people who are destined to fall in love, and be together. The couple so connected, will find their way together, irrespective of time, place or circumstance. In Japanese versions of the tale, the string is tied between their little fingers. This magical thread may get stretched, tangled or knotted---but it will never, ever break.
I couldn't but help see a parallel to one of my very favorite SwaSan scenes: the mouli daaga tying scene from the Dhanteras episode. In a sense, we have the Red String of Fate coming into play for SwaSan here---Swara tied the daaga around Sanskaar's wrist; and he in turn, tied one around her ring finger subsequently, for their engagement.
I still literally get goosebumps when I listen to those lovely dialogues from the Dhanteras episode. Sanskaar saying ""Ye mouli nahi, hamara rishta baandha hai tumne, isse mai kabhi khulne nahi doonga"" And just before that, when Swara is tying the mouli daaga for him, he says something to the effect of "Sambhalke, Itna tight bandhogi, tho toot jayega." To which Swara replies "Kuch nahi hoga, main guarantee deti hoon, yeh kabhi nahi tootega". Symbolism galore there!
So like the fable suggests, we have had SwaSan's amazing bond getting tangled (due to machinations by Lakshya, Ragini and even the resurrected/ zombie Kavita!!) thankfully, a thing of the past. It has been stretched (interference from Sujata, Annapurna, and even Durga Prasad's uncharacteristically duplicitous behavior)--all again, thankfully, a thing of the past. So now its time for the thread to undergo a few knots. 😊 Sahil is a rather thickly tied knot, for sure, hewn as he seems to be from the Big Banyan tree of the India Botanic Gardens in Kolkata. And about as expressive, too 😛 😈 😈 But why fear, we know that the knotty issues have to be unraveled sooner rather than later---the magical thread connecting our SwaSan is destiny, after all. 😳
The forthcoming episodes are bound to be heartrending--Sanskaar's agony when Swara thinks he tried to kill her, would be really difficult to watch. But I'm going to cheer myself up in the meantime, by reliving all those episodes and scenes where our golden couple's bond came to being. As the saying goes, the toughest steel and the purest gold both come through tests of fire. SwaSan's love and devotion to each other is like that---emerging like a phoenix from whatever fiery challenges they undergo.
Nitzy my dear---You've banned me from saying thanks. So I'll just say: I love you loads and loads, and am sending you a bunch of jhappis, for sending me these lovely screen caps of the unforgettable Dhanteras episode. 🤗 🤗 ❤️ ❤️
