Zoya wonderful Analysis of the behavior of Raman these days...I also noticed that subtle momentary change in his expression which was replaced by the cold, cutting Raman's face again. I'm a visual person...and totally react to a track/episode based on what I pick up from there. This whole track for me was higlighted by the 1st few mins of the episode following the one where Raman bumped into Ishita again at the police station.:



the inner set is his reaction outside the police station. That was raw, unadulterated Ishita's Raman on seeing Ishita alive after all these years...the 1st pic on left in the top row is when Ishita sees Adi after all these years...he's tears in his eyes seeing their reunion.

3rd pic(top row) Mani enters the scene with a slap on Adi and Raman's expressions got icier after that culminating in when she leaves the room following Mani.

That set the tone for me for Raman in this track...he's bitter, angry , insecure and jealous because of the realization Ishita chose to stay with Mani and 'abandoned' him and their kids..

...and then things went downhill from there since then with Adi choosing her over him repeatedly and the new revelation that Ishita is filing for Pihu's custody...who has been his one true tangible connection to the love he shared with Ishita. Unlike Ruhi, who he kinda abandoned because she reminded him of Shagun...Pihu he embraced her with his life and was the only soft corner of warmth in his life as we had seen he had withdrawn from everyone else from his family. And when that got threatened...the jealous lover Raman got replaced by the father in him...and now he's genuinely scared of losing everything again as he has gone through that nightmare with both Ruhi and Adi.

Does he remember that night that set the ball rolling to this doom of an existence he's living...he did that till the moment of realization that Ishita has chosen to live with Mani and away from them for past 7 years ..and now it's more of survival against that thought and preserving his own secured zone: Pihu at any cost.

tsk tsk Puttar...how much I feel for you ..the woman in me cringes at your taunts every time.🤢..an though the script has not supported him much...that a lot of us get his behavior is totally to the credit of Karan's portrayal of Raman...the momentary change in expressions, body language and his voice modulations have been spot on.👏

Ok, here is my take.

I kind of disagree that raman has forgotten his own doings because it is overshadowed by his anger. The very first glimpse we saw of the real raman bhalla post the leap was in the drunken scene with adi , where he hurts his hand. There he very clearly was guilty..guilty if his own deeds..because he never said that they left me..he clearly says 'I lost the 2 people I loved tjhe most..I am what you call, a loser'.

So deep within he certainly knows and has been guilty of his doings for all these years. Cut again to the jail scene..where he screams at ishita saying, there i was dying every minute in guilt of your death and here you v were alive and didn't bother to inform even.

So again, he knows his fault but then couple of factors have made him stoic and like you rightly sa I d the 'alpha male' who maskd his pain behind his anger...

The most important of those is his insecurity with mani being around. Yes , mani was WV always a threat to him and when he now feels ..whatever the status of b ishita's and Mani's relationship, it's a fact she chose to be with him all these years..in hiding..alive..all things the ishita he knew would never have donr...makes him doubly insecure and defensive and his wal k s have hone further up..it's Mani's presence which makes him uncomfortable to tjhe point of wanting to bury all the grey aspects of their relationship and put up a ' I don't give a damn about you ' facade..it's more like ..' she didn't bother about what I went through. She didn't even bother about how the kids were doing..this isn't my ishita. This is a new ishita...someone I don't recognize. .someone who is not selfless and giving but someone who speaks Mani's language...and thrrein lies tjhe catch..that's the crux of why the walls have gone higher up.. and the offence has gone to extreme leveks of giving hurt...inckuding trying to give her the same hurt , she is giving him...hence shagun and marriage to shagun😉

You are spot on when you say raman bhalla is more sensitive and vulnerable n most male characters on telly. .I would go a step ahead and say he is more sensitive and vulnerable than ishita in this equation . And that's why his defenses are extreme, self destruction and even far more juvenile😛.

The scene with bAla was poignant. When bala spoke of tjhe difference between the 'betrayal' by both women, he paused. It was the real raman bhalla agaim...he pondered, and for fleeting seconds tjhe facade fell. He was more than clear about his hurt in that scene where he saud who is this woman you are talking about. . She didn't even care to ask if I was dead or alive, or how her kids were doing , ...so he is still saying that aloud..no this woman isn't the ishita i know. She can't be..my ishita would never do this. ..

Yes ..it is a fact that ishita thinks tjhe sane too..this isn't my raman... the guy I knew would nev r hurt me this way or the way he did 7 yrs back...

But both need to see the mirror. .bit for that .. at least for raman. . Tjhe mani factor has to be v resolved for good...that is the biggest hurdue towards any progress he will make towards accepting that indeed it's his ishita who is back for good. ..

Till then denial and anger it is...and hence more self destruction😛🥱

V r not getting raman's proper pov that is msking ppl frustrated...bt v hv gotten some hints here n there..
First scene with adi wen he said i m a loser
Second again with adi wen adi's maturity reminded him of his madrasan
Third the lift scene the most pivotal scene where he accepted he wants to die n go to her madrasan..(looks like all hv forgotten that scene including ishita)
Fourth at PC ...praising adi's ishima's upbringing ...shgun nvr came to his mind...
Fifth the happiness outside the police station...
And the minute mani appeared he took a 360 degree turn...
Sixth with ishita wen he said i ws living in guilt n u were living with ur friend happily...
Seventh with bala...he said she didnt even care i m dead or alive ...
He doesnt know wat actually relation mani n ishita shares ...thst is eating him up...thats y all taunts...tumhara mani ...tumhare appa ki gf..australia wale
As @Pb said...acc to him she is not his ishita who left him n kids ...staying away since 7 yrs ...giving the share of love thst belongs to adi n pihu to aliya n nirvan...she chose mani over him...he is not enough for his wife ...the horrible past wen shagun too left him came in front of him again..
Thsts y the same dlg again n again ishita is dead ...ur ishima is dead...
He is losing from all the sides..romi is with ashok...ishita is with mani ...almost has lost adi to ishita n now custody of pihu his reason of existence making him nastier..
Right now he is not thinking straight...his biggest fear of not worthy of love not enough for a family consuming him...i m waiting for the wall he has built around himself to break n ishita's raman will emerge again...kp will nail it...!!
