was Salman really was the reason Vivek's career was destroyed??

Ok Hydro's post in another thread made me think of this.

While there is no doubt people boycotted Vivek because of his public rant against Sallu. But there is chance they did it because they did not wanted to take sides rather than them fearing Salman or Salman telling them to boycott him. Was Sallu really calling everyone and saying "dont work with Vivek, so else I will unleash Dubai Bhais on you". Also it is not like VO did not got any movie post the infamous public press conference as Hydro rightfully puts the number of movies Vivek did.


So was Sallu really a direct cause of Vivek's downfall or it is just an excuse for his failure??

Salman made sure no one in his family associated with Vivek but then Arbaaz was in a movie with Vivek

Salman made sure none of his friends associated with Vivek but Salmans best friend Sanjay did a film with him

Salman made sure no top director worked with Vivek but he still worked with people like Subhash Ghai or Vishal Bhardwaj

Salman made sure no reputable producer worked with him but he still worked in films under KJO's banner

Maybe just maybe Vivek is a pathetic actor that fans never warmed upto 😆😆😆

In Farah Khan's chat show Vivek revealed details on the incident and a lot more. Some very interesting excerpts,read on.

Vivek: I got this letter from the organizers of an award function that I'd won the award for "Company"..and then I was told that I shouldn't attend it and later that award was given to someone else...I said I had the letter! I was fed up...I had only one goal in life, act in films but when this incident (press conference against Salman Khan) happened, people were told not to work with me. People started asking me to return the signing amounts saying that they can't do the film with me because they were facing pressure from here and there.

What I did was very wrong but I didn't kill anyone, neither did I harm anyone, I did not hurt anyone's personal life but I was made to suffer a lot. Till today there are friends of yours and mine who say, We'd love to work with you but we can't!' I am still dealing with that after having apologized. But more than Salman, I'm sad about Sohail because he was my best friend and he had even fought for me with Salman. He had told me, I will sort it out, don't worry!' I felt bad that I had let a friend down. Till date, Sohail has not been able to forgive me...I speak to Arbaaz but I understand that I let down Sohail the most!"

Farah Khan - What exactly happened? There are some who know some part of it and others the rest... you please tell us?"

There was too much happening, threats were coming, indirect pressure tactics were being used and I was tired of it.. I tried to phone and even go and meet (Salman) and settle it. My dad was also out of town then... Had been there, he would have rightly advised me.. Lekin uss waqt kuch log the, jo mere kareeb the aur mujhe rai' de rahein the."

Farah Khan - That's a good choice of word.. rai' (referring to Aishwarya Rai)

Sujhav de rahein the, mashavara de rahein the.. rai' nahin de rahein the!" (Everyone laughs) People don't know this.. I'd suddenly become an out caste from being this lovable boy. There were a few who called up saying that I did the right thing but they also soon disappeared. Suddenly there was no one to back me, and those who had asked me to do this also walked away saying that this is no longer their responsibility.

Farah - Yes there was such a huge backlash against you.

I was like... but you're the one who asked me to say all this? There were many such eye-openers then. This was just the beginning.. it just continued.. I was ridiculed at every award function, made fun of...

Everyone makes mistakes, but the price that Vivek has had to pay is something that would haunt him for the rest of his life. Ash moved on and married Abhishek, she is now a Bachchan bahu. Salman's career is still going great guns, he has enough people backing him even with back to back disasters. Vivek very unfortunately has suffered the most, for no fault of his...

Im sure He was blacklisted but not by Salman

He had a disagreement with Salman then whined about it in public

I think director/producer/actor were like if he has disagreement with me then will he whine about me also ???

'Vivek must learn discretion'

Salman Khan's admirers are less forgiving of Vivek Oberoi's outburst in the media than the star.

On Tuesday Oberoi alleged Khan called him 41 times in one night and asked him to keep away from Aishwarya Rai, Rani Mukherji and Somy Ali.

Says Kareena Kapoor, "If he had a problem with Salman, why could he not solve it instead of going to the press? I have worked briefly with Salman for a film I finally did not do. He was thoroughly gentlemanly with me. My sister Karisma and Salman are very good friends. In fact, she contacted him immediately after this incident."

Suniel Shetty sounds regretful, "I don't know what's happening with Vivek and how he looks at life. Being an actor and a coartiste, he should not have taken the matter to the press. If he felt Salman had behaved badly, he [Oberoi] should have confronted him [Khan] physically instead of talking about it on television. I thought it was in very bad taste. Everyone believes Vivek has done it for publicity.

"I know Salman," continues Shetty, "He is a fantastic human being. He [Khan] says he made a call or two. But he says he wasn't abusive. I get irked with some seniors, for example, when they come late on the sets. But I still hero worship them. Where is the question of Salman getting insecure about his career? Filmmakers keep going back to Salman."

Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is set to launch his next film with Khan, describes the star as "the best human being I have met in my life."

Upset on his friend's behalf, Bhansali says, "I think Vivek Oberoi has committed the biggest blunder ever by any actor in Mumbai. He is so powerful. He knows kick-boxing and karate. [US President George W] Bush should call back his army from Iraq and send Vivek instead. I am very scared of Vivek. I will never be able to work with him now. I may shout at him on the sets and he may call a press conference against me. All the heroines should touch his feet for protecting their dignity.

"The media should be ready to cover every event at the Oberois' residence," adds Bhansali. "If Vivek's dog has dysentery tomorrow, we should be prepared to hear Vivek talk about it on camera for three hours. The film industry functions on fraternal feelings. If there is a problem, we solve it in-house. Vivek has no business talking about Salman's mental state. He should not have talked about his Coca-Cola campaign or Rani Mukherji, Diya Mirza and Aishwarya Rai at a time when he was supposed to be so distraught."

"Vivek must learn discretion from stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Ajay Devgan. There is dignity in being a celebrity. Let us not lose that dignity. Didn't Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar and Dev Anand have differences of opinion? They never maligned each other."

"Salman's problem," continues Bhansali, "is he thinks with his heart. He gives his life to people he loves. That is why his friends have always stood by him. He is perfectly sane and there is no need to send him to a shrink, as some self-styled psychoanalysts think. As for him getting professionally insecure, Salman will be around for a long time. I am making my next film with him. He has given three of the biggest hits ever [in Bollywood] -- Maine Pyaar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun...! and Karan Arjun. Those who think Salman is getting insecure should examine their career closely. If you believe you are the new kid on the block and four of your films flop in a row, it is time to get delirious publicity."

"It is not Salman who is insecure at 37," declares Bhansali. "If Vivek was threatened, why is he giving unsolicited advice to Salman and his family? I don't think Salman needs counselling from any self-motivated colleague. How much time has Vivek spent with Salman to know how he handles his women? Why should there be a press conference to hear Oberoi put forward his views based on hearsay? Did we ask him what happened between him and his fiance whom he broke up with after an elaborate engagement?"

Abhishek Bachchan has the final word, "In the film industry, there is a code of honour whereby all problems are sorted out internally."

Vivek was on an all time aish high and thought aishwarya will come running to him with varmala next day..when she didn't back him at that crucial moment then why expect Salman to sympathize 🤔 his own dad suresh Oberoi said he was wrong then who else do we need to certify..

No. He did about 11 movies after that incident.

VO was a fool. I feel sad for him. He believed what Aish told him. Fool fool fool. He paid his price though. How Aish dumped him in a fraction of second and went onto marry Abhishek. The woman is pathetic to say the least. Where is the option that 'Aish destroyed VO's career'. I am sure she was the one who instigated VO to have the PC.
