Are bollywood male actors/directors paying for their own MCP ways?

I seriously feel so. The male dominated BW has never allowed actresses to grow and flourish to their full capacity. From unequal wages to flower pot roles to to use of women only as object of attraction. Moreover once an actress gets married her career comes to a big halt. From both restrictions from in laws/spouses to directors not giving good/young roles the women face all. And to add outsiders are totally not welcome in the industry. Even the tv ones are not given any bhav. And the outcome is that our industry is in a complete dearth of good actresses. The likes of PC, DP are searching for better avenues outside. The married ones like Kareena, Vidya, AIshwarya do movies only once in 2-3 years. And the situation is so bad that we have to compromise with an Alia or a Shraddha or a Jacqueline in every other film. Directors are getting forced to make movies sans actresses and the truth is that they are just not working. Audiences are forced to watch talentless girls like Nargis Fakhri, Jacqeline, Vaani Kapoor etc with A listers like Akki, Ranveer. Indeed its a sad state of affairs. I don't remember the last outside talent BW produced after DP/Anushka.

BW may be paying for lack of talent...but any given day, 10000s of girls are lining up for good roles.
For every insider Alia, there is talented Anushka
Athiyas flop and Kirtis flourish...

They get PC, DP, Kangu and others in the business also.

There is no dearth of girls doing flowerpot roles right now
A whole leage of them

If and when they make a sensible movie that requires acting, there is enough competition for that too. I mean a queen or a saat khun maaf or a kahaani gets made not too often

Not MCP ways but BW is paying for nepotism in recent times when it comes to actresses. It is natural for someone who has talent and confidence to try their luck for a bigger audience. Thats what PC and DP are doing. But in any other industry which is flourishing if one goes out there will be thousands to take their place. But BW hasnt built up that talent bank at all in the recent past. In 2012 we had Alia, Ileana, Yami debuting. The former is flourishing thanks to all the directors her 'papa' arranged for her. While Ileana disappeared and Yami is doing Bgrade films with small directors or small roles in bigger films. If Ileana and Yami had got the right films at the right time and had the chance to work on their talent with the right directors BW wouldnt have been facing so much dearth of talent. Hence today we have to make do with an Alia who half decent. Else settle for Shraddha, Kriti who are terrible. There is an Athiya waiting in the wings and I wont surprised if she bags movies too. In contrast to the time till mid 2000s we had more actresses at the top who were outsiders and hence possessed talent and beauty to make it at the top hence exit of 30 plus actresses wasnt felt much. There was always a talent bank ready to take over.
But we need not worry about the future. These talentless hacks who are new wont get a second look from HW types so BW current 'talent' bank is safe.
When it comes to males we dont see that much of a problem as 2000 onwards nepotism has been more systematic. More so with the launch of Ranbir/Sonam in the mid-2000s. Hence most major male stars have connections and lack talent for anyone to give them a second look outside. You will never fear 'losing' them to a bigger industry.

It is a free market..Actors and actresses will get what they deserve.

Simple Supply and demand

Actresses are getting a good percentage of the budget in medium budget films of around 40 crores. They are happy doing them.

The problem the Khans are facing now,is that actresses are not willing to work in 100 crore films for the same price, when they are not getting anything in return.Khans/HR/Akki?Ajay are finding it very difficult.Sultan can at least claim to have gotten an A lister, even though she adds no appeal at the BO.

Katty,Sonakshi,Jacky,Kareena etc have opened the eyes of other actresses. They want to build their own fanbases, have their own roles/performances withstand the test of time.

See Aishwarya still earning from the goodwill and imagery of HDDCS,Devdas..

Actresses are keen on building their own brands.

Nepotism comes into play only when the actor in question is undeserving. How does it matter if Alia is Bhatt's daughter or Sona is Sinha Sr's? They don't bring in audiences neither do the critics & audiences alike praise their talent because they are "insiders". LOL. However many movies "Papa" brings them, only their talent & hard work sustain it. Nothing else. For every Alia & Sona, there are enough terrible actresses like Kriti, Rautela, PC Jr etc.

The audience is King & does not care about nepotism or who is or is not Papa's princess. They only care about their money's worth & whether the actor is entertaining & vibrant enough to capture their attention/divert them for the next few hours. It's amusing to hear members whine about nepotism--- Either you're given oppurtunities or you create them (casting couch, networking etc) But you FLOURISH or even do well only if you've talent. For every KJo, there is an equally powerful or probably even more powerful producer/director like Adi C, giving newcomers ample oppurtunities (Anushka, Vaani, Ranveer, SSR) willing to bank on them & work on them--- And they've delivered.

Only hard work & luck matter because that is the only way One knows how to sustain themselves.
