TOI:I am copying Angoori, not Shilpa: Shubhangi Atre!!

Shubhangi Atre, who stepped into Shilpa Shinde's shoes to play the role of new Angoori Bhabi in 'Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain', has slammed the latter's allegation that she is copying her. The actress says she is not copying any actor (Shilpa), rather she is playing the character of Angoori Bhabi.

"I can't change anyone's opinion. She can say whatever she feels like. But I would like to say that I am copying Angoori and not any particular actor (Shilpa). I am just following the character's mannerisms. There are certain things about the role that I can't change. Like Angoori loves speaking in English, but she doesn't know the language. She is innocent. These are the characteristics of Angoori and this is what I am following. I just hope that the audience will love me," clarified Shubhangi.


Shubhangi, who earlier replaced Shilpa in 'Chidiya Ghar' is ready to wait till the audience accepts her as the new Angoori, "The feedback has been great so far. I initially thought it will not be an easy task to enter the show. But I have got mixed response. I know viewers will take some time to accept me as the new Angoori Bhabi. I am in no hurry and mentally prepared for it."
When asked if the makers are trying to cash in on her sex apppeal as a lot of emphasis is given on her looks and body, "I think it is a creative decision. Everyone mutually thought that new Angoori will have a different look. Since I have a fit body, they thought of making me look attractive. The logic behind the new look was to highlight my positive points."
