I am ok playing heroine in a Kangana Ranaut film: Irrfan Khan

Zareen Khan has replaced Kangana in 'Divine Lovers'.

Actor Irrfan today said he would not mind playing a 'heroine' in a film with the National Award-winning actress Kangana Ranaut.

There were reports that Irrfan, 49, and Kangana, 29, would come together for director Sai Kabir's next Divine Lovers. Kangana left the movie in December 2015, citing date issues. Now, Zareen Khan has replaced the Queen actress.

"I don't know if I would be able to do 'Divine Lovers' or not as it comes and goes. Now, Kangana is out of reach. I am ok playing a heroine in a film, where Kangana would be the hero," Irrfan told reporters at the trailer launch of Madaarihere.

Divine Lovers revolves round the lower middle-class section of society and is set in the heartland of India. The film is an adventure comedy, whose shoot starts in September.

Don't hero and heroine mean the same thing, except for the gender?

Why the hell is he putting it across as if heroines are inferior to heroes? If this comes from the mouth of a highly accomplished and respected, international actor, can you imagine what other male actors think of actresses? 🤢

Does it mean the same thing?? Cause as per Kangana it ain't the same either after all she claims to be the hero rather than the heroine.

Hero or heroine - you need to have a good role. Do it if it suits you. Don't if it doesn't. End of the story.

Also note the difference.
Kangana was applauded for saying the same whereas Irfan is going to be bashed maybe.

Brace yourself.. I have a feeling that one Unknown Entity of BS might pop out to justify whatever Kangana said by bringing how women are always treated bad ( which is true but not good enough to justify Kangu's statement).

Exactly...by the same logic even Kangana demeaned the position of actresses but was lauded for being a symbol of female empowerment by some
