Hi everyone...writing an FF after a long time. Since I am a fan of Ragini (Tejaswi in particular)...I am writing this keeping her as the main character. The main characters are the same in the serial only the time frame is different. Music is an important part of this story.

PROLOGUE

Mumbai, 2016

India Times (imaginary newspaper)

Ms Raagini, the music sensation is giving her first public interview this evening. She had achieved unimaginable success in the field of music, both commercial and critical, over the past 2 years. Her first two albums "SAAZ" and "SUR NA SAJE" gave her back to back success, apart from playback singing in various Hindi films. She had won a number of awards to her credit, and all these just at the age of 26 years. She is presently back with her new album "SWARAGINI", and it has been projected that this album shall break all previous records. It is in context of this album tat she is giving her first interview on a leading music channel on satellite television.

She slowly put down the newspaper, staring at the lonely Palm tree outside her residence. She had achieved fame, money, critical acclaim...and everything that a 26 year old could dream of...BUT after losing too many things. Today she was probably as lonely as that tree. The tears had dried up. What had remained was a pain deep down in her heart. She had never been satisfied with anything...none of her songs...she felt that something was missing...was it the "SWARA" or was it the "RAAGINI"?...the answer was unknown.

He read the newspaper. She still looked the same, as 5 years back...though prettier and seemingly more mature. He wanted to reach out to her instantly. His guilt stopped him...as it had been doing so for the past 2 years, since he came to know about her whereabouts. Her voice still rang in his ears...that cursed day which changed everything... "Lakshya believe me, I did not do this, I cannot do this"..."Is there nobody in the house who can really trust me?"...How he wished that he had listened this heart and not his head on that fateful day...oh how he wished...it was too late now...or perhaps it wasn't.

PART 1

Kolkata 2011

"Raagini..."...she heard his voice, her heart skipped a beat, though that wasn't something new. They were married for almost a year now...and whenever, he would call out her name she would go weak on her knees. "Yes, I am coming, just a minute"...she replied. Her dear sister Swara, was pregnant by 5 months, and she was doing her best to ensure her comfort. After all very soon she would be a Chaachi/Maasi. She left the kitchen with Swara's glass of milk in her hand...

Suddenly those fiery voices recurred..."What have you done Raagini?"..."How could you do this?"..."You are a criminal!!"...she kept on pleading..."Lakshya believe me, I did not do this, I cannot do this"..."Is there nobody in the house who can really trust me?"

Mumbai 2016

She woke up with cold sweats and palpitations. For the past 5 years she had been haunted by this dream...not a dream...a reality - THE REALITY of her life. The alarm was ringing relentlessly. She had been extremely tired by the interview the previous evening and was exhausted even now...more emotionally than physically.

She had received a call after coming back from the studio...and it disturbed her to the core. Even after 5 years she could recognise his voice clearly. But why was he calling her up...?? She had hung up pretending not to have heard anything and now she wished that she didn't.

Kolkata 2016

He was watching her interview as mesmerised by her beauty as before. She was definitely more mature now and sarcastic ...or rather the circumstances forced her to be so...they forced her to be so. His eyes were red by the time the interview was over. What had they done to her? They were no less than criminals...He, Lakshya Maheshwari, was the one at fault. He could not support his wife when she needed it the most. When she left the house quietly...her eyes questioned just one person...and that was him.

The Maheshwaris understood that Lakshya was extremely upset and disturbed by the interview...and so were they. The FAMILY was guilty as well. At Swara's behest he mustered up the courage and tried to call up Raagini (procuring the number from a studio), but she hung up the call.

Probably he would need to visit Mumbai. A lot was at stake.
