CHAPTER 2

Jodha's scream flew away everyone's sleep in a blink of second.

Her father Rajeev, mother Naina and sis Sukanya goes out of the room and started to search the source of the sound.

" kaha se aayi ye awaz ji?" Naina asked with worry

"ywh to did ki chillane ki awaz hai, per who kamre ke bahar gayi kab? Or kaha?" Sukanya said with amusement

"yeh sab sochne ka avhi waqt nahi hai." Rajeev neglected their talks."I think yeh awaz chad se ayi thi, chalo chalke dekhte hai" they 3 run towards the roof.

Rajeev climb the staires then saw the roof door is open wide. Why it is open? I myself locked it. He went forward and saw the most shocked scene.

Jodha was lying unconscious in front of the attic.

All of them took her and headed towards her room. They lay her on the bed. Naina spangled some water on her to gain her consciousness.

Sprinkling water did its work. Jodha open her eyes and jump sit on the bed and looked here and there horrified. She get up from the bed and looked through the window and doors, searching if there someone or not?

After sometime she calm down and drink a glass of water.

Rajeev, Naina and sukanya was silent audience of her horrified pacing.

"kya hua the beta? Tum chad pe kya kar rhi thi?" Rajeev asked his daughter with care.

"aor didi aap cheekhi kyu?" sukanya questioned.

The whole incident of that dark black shadow comes infront of her eyes. The shadow standing on the attic roof bend on its knees and lasly those words,

"Happy Birthday Jodhaaa..."

Beta kya hua? Kuch to bolo." Rajeev jerked her out of her thought.

Jodha mumble,"who no, nothing. Mujhe nind nahi aa rhi thi, toh socha khuli hawa me jaungi to accha lagega. That's why chad pe gayi thi. Chad peg hum hi rahi thi k eek chamgadar mere samne se achanak se udd k nikal gaya. Achanak se mere samne aa gya than a to bohot darr gayi thior behosh ho gayi." Jodha finished in on breath.

They 3 keep silent for a moment. Then suddenly burst out laughter.

"Ha ha ha ha ha ha ohh god didi hasa hasa ke maarne ka irada hai kya? Aisi adbhootiya chees maine aajtak nahi suni." She started laughing more loudly.

"aaagghhr, isme hasne ki kya baat hai sukanya? App log bhi na..." Jodha was hell irritate with these three. "Us halaat me tum rehti to tum samajhti."

Rajeev dismissed all of them,"chalo chalo sab so jao kal tmhari schl bhi sukanya, or Jodha ka offce bhi hai. Go and sleep."

All of them went to sleep.

Next day all day all the time Jodha want to concentrate on her work but she cant. The dark shadow memory pricked her mind even in the daylight.

"why? Why? Why I am thinking about that? Why I feel I know the voice? Why? Kya sachem who awaz main pehchanti hu? Koun hai who? Agar pehchan ka hai to aise hawa me gum kaise ho sakta hai? Koi zinda insaan aise hawa me vanish nahi ho sakta. Fir?" She tried to think. She throw hwer body on the chair and closed her eyes.

Suddenly her phone rings. She pick up.

"Hey Jodha. Phoneutha kyu nahi rahi thi? Kab se try kar rhi thi."

"Sorry yar kam me busy thi" she lied.

"okh sun, Aj 5 baje tu zara aj bus stand k paas wale chai ke dukan pe aa sakti hai? Tujhe kuch zaruri baat batani hai."

"Ok aa jaungi."

"Ok bye."

"Bye"

At 5pm sharp she went to the chai stall near her office. It's beside a bus stand. She sat on the bench and started to think again about yesterday night.

"Hey Jodha" a voice broke her thought. She look up. Moti is coming towards her. She smiles, But Moti didn't give it back.

"whtas wrong moti? Tum itni udaas kyu ho yaar? Kuch hua hai kya?

"bohot kuch hua hai Jodha, wohi batana tujhe yaha bulaya maine"

"Jodha, ek buri khabar hai yaar"

Jodha got confused, "kya buri khabar? Bata mujhe?"

"yaar ajse 2 mahine pehle isi bus stand pe" she pointed the "yad hai hum done kisse mile the pehli baar?"

Jodha remembered. How can she forget this place and that time? She said looking at the bus stand, "ha yaad hai, Abdul or" she hesitate shyly "...Jalal"

Moti smled a bit, the the smile vanished. Jodha niticed this. She got more confused with her behavioure.

"kya hua mti? Abdul or jalal ke bareme kuch batana hai kya?" she looked at her nervously

"I know Jodha, tu muhse chupa nahi sakti. Tu use pasand karti hai na?

Jodha shockingly looked her then lowerd her eyes shyly." I know Jodha, main teri best friend hu yaar." She stopped for a moment "isi lie mujhe nahi pata ke ye baat main tujhe kaise batau. Kal jab Abdul ne mujhe bataya I was Shocked."

"kya hua hai?" kya bataya Abdul ne tujhe?"

"Jodha" She breath silently for a secondly, then with sad eyes looked at Jodha.

Jalal is no more Jodha"

The words make Jodha numb. What she listen? How can it be? Jalal, that man she liked at her first sight, may be she started to love him. And today her best friend saying he isno more? No, it cant be true.

"Moti agar is waqt aisa mazak karegi to main tujhse kabhi bhi baat nahi karungi. Aisa kaise keh sakti hai tu thathe is no more?" her voice was shaking and she choked due to her flowing tears.

"main tere saath aisa mazak kabhi nahi kar sakti tu janti hai. I am saying truth. I know ye janne ke baas tera reaction kaisa hoga, fir bhi I don't want to hide it from you."

The world started to spin around her. She heared moti continues, "kal Abdul ne mujhecall kia tha, Parsu Jalla ki maut hui hai. Raat ko ghar lautne ke time pe kisi ke gadhi se takraya tha, us gadhi ki break fail ho chukka tha. Us gadhi ke driver ka spot death ho gaya tha. But Jalal tab bhi zinda tha, but uske sar pe bohot zyada chot lagi thi. Hospital jane tak thik hi tha but raste pe uske kaan or naak me se khun likalne laga. Hospital jate jate sab khatam ho chka tha. Jala chod ke jaa chukka tha. Hospital jane ke baaad doctor ne bola ke brain haemorrhage ho gaya tha. Kal subha uski body ko dafnaya gaya hai. You know who muslim hai na." moti stopped

She looked at Jodha and her heart pinched. She was looking at her lifelessly. She could read her eyes which is pouring all her feeling for him in form of tears. Now she confirmed. Jodha is in love with Jalal but now she can't even tell him.
