Shahid is someone that has stuck around long past anyone thought he would. He is not from a prominent film family so that never really helped him. If he has stuck around, it is because of him. He was initially absolutely boring to me, but he learned to danced better, underwent a makeover and really upped his acting. I think he is one of those like Ajay Devgan, will stick around long after the more famous faces do.

I dont think Shahid is the dark horse. If he gets good roles he will do justice. Will he get awards next year?? well it depends who else have good roles. He either needs to impress that much so that people wont care how the fate of the movie will be to consider him for best actor. Because as soon as someone acts good and has a commercial success they wont care that much. SRK looks promising, HR and well maybe RK surprises with JJ there is also SSR with dhoni. And some actors who doesnt came right now into my mind they could also impress. But Shahid is always there he is constant people clap if he has done a good job and if not no one cares really that much he is just there.

Anyway, I would compare his graph/late blooming to Akshay Kumar, not AD. First makes more sense.

shahid is a trained dancer, he went to shiamaks dance school, he was a backup dancer in dil toh pagal hai and taal before be entered films, so he has always been gud at dancing

awards have very little importance in india imo

won't matter as long as he's doing good work and the movies get critical acclaim and do decent at the BO

these are the kind of films shahid was meant to do!

That has been my Shahid experience 😆. I found him boring in both looks and personality. Very vanilla or chocolate boy. I could not even finish Vivah. Then one day he suddenly changed somehow, more buff, looked more interesting in looks and personality, that is what I meant by a makeover. Not that he was ugly. He was good looking in a very vanilla way, then he became good looking in a 'woah' kind of way for me. I never knew shahid could dance until the "makeover".
