Am I the only one who isn't able to get a fix on who Adarsh Sinha is?

Is he

1. A charming, intelligent, strong IAS officer who stands up for what is right - a change-agent in and the moral anchor in a family of biased people
2. An immature adolescent who believes a crush is love, taking to stalking a girl, not believing 'no means no'
3. The pacifying, softer middle son in a family of stronger-willed people
4. The spineless, 'shy' guy who is the victim of circumstances, setting up misery for 2 women because he couldn't stand up to his mother. Will always be Mother vs. Wife
5. A chivalrous guy and Mr. Nice because he won't offend ANYONE
6. A non-self respecting weak guy who takes stuff from everyone - Mr. Ahuja, Simmi, Father, Mother, Swadhinta, Vanshika

Each story they unfold adds a new dimension to his character, making him confusing at best, weak at worst!! :( :(

Who is Adarsh Sinha? What can we expect from him?

I know Ya! They're kind of inconsistent.
Because the Adarsh at the start would have dealt with the situation honestly, maturely and tactfully! There may have been shock but there wouldn't have been prolonged drama!

Agree they're kind of inconsistent.

He cannot say he loves Swa one-sided.Ok I understand that. But loving one girl .Doing roka with another girl. Not uttering any word that he is not happy with the marriage. He is giving false hopes to Vanshika also. Why drag that girl also in to mess.Adarsh need to open his mouth n say that he is not ready for the marriage at this moment.

Agreed. Cannot believe as a mature IAS officer who hd dealt with tricky situations he can't deal with this.

I was losing respect for him when he was stalking Swadheenta, I completely lost respect when he didn't have the guts to speak up before giving false hopes to another.

Weak and cowardly is how I'd describe him now.
Esp. When he didn't have the courage to tell Vanshika that he knows Swadheenta outside of her being the assistant.

Also 2 faced, coz he's leading a double life, engaged to one and secretly stalking the other one. That is creepy behaviour

Phew! That was my rant!

Who are we talking about. Adarsh Sinha the man or Adarsh the boy. At this point he is a mix of both, unable to decide on what he wants to do
Adarsh the boy loves Swadeenta, is Robinhood and lives in a world of his own, world of his dreams which he wants to chase, which he wants to make reality
Adarsh Sinha the man has moral obligations, his relations wants to keep his family happy wants to be a good son, good brother, have to keep reputation of Sinha family intact. Cannot speak what he wants, cannot do what he wants as he is bound by his duties as a son as a brother.
He has to evolve, evolve into a man where Adarsh the boy, merges into Adarsh Sinha the man where he is not confused between his 2 priorities, confused between what his heart wants and what his head is forcing him to do. For that he has to pass through fire, experience that mold him into a mature man.

Isn't that how characters are supposed to be? Not flat, neither black nor white but the perfect shade of grey? In real life too people have so many layers to them. People behave differently in different situations and they behave as per the need of the hour and with every event that takes place in a person's life, they grow and they evolve, they shed some layers and develop some new. Adarsh is exactly that, which is exactly why I'm waiting for his character to grow.

His mom used to call him shantidoot for a reason, he is the type of person who really values relations. He is called Robinhood because of his just principles and ofcourse who can forget his romeo side. 😆

I agree with the first point you wrote, that characters have flaws, but characters like people in real life are consistent. They haven't shown consistency in his character.

Usually the flaw in someone's character defines him/ her and governs how he would behave in a situation.

A man who believes in doing what is right, even if it means going against his own family-
father (Sifaarish case), brother/ sister in law (FIR against Mr Ahuja), Mother (when he gently berates her for not accepting Simi)
- is not the sort of man who gets into a situation where he is doing wrong by at least 2 women because he didn't want to offend anyone.

The Adarsh they set up earlier would have said marriage is a big decision, I'd like Vanshika and I to decide whether we're compatible. Because even she may realise that a crush aside, I am a very different sort of person from her - idealistic, believes in simple things, righteous etc. etc.

And what made it weirder was him getting uncomfortable confessing to Vanshika that he knew Swadheenta, makes him look jaise Mann Mein chor hai

Hey! Interesting way of looking at it, though am not sure I agree with it. No offence meant.

From what they set up of Adarsh, Jaidev n Abhay initially was that Abhay was the kid wanting his own way. Jaidev was the weak one, not strong enough to overrule his mother's dictat.
Adarsh was shown as the guy who was mature, knowing how to value relationships yet at the same time able to handle his mom and steer her into a direction which he thought was right.
