@Shruti great post.
Sona understands DEv best and better than his family members because she has an outsider's perspective and she's a very sensible n mature girl. No wonder she easily bonds with Neha and I absolutely loved the calm firm yet very soothing tone n manner in which she talked with Neha. It was really lovely as well as telling to see how Neha can open up to Sona.
Dev is a man full of contradictions. I completely agree with Neha that he needs to some times strike the break, stop n listen n contemplate over what others ( n not his mother ) say and then only take action. Even when his intention is correct n genuine he often invariably takes the wrong route. Though he manipulated Sona to get sacked from her old job, he claims he's given her a better job. So who'll decide what's good for Sona n what's better for her ?? Sona only.
Who'll decide what's good for Neha ?? Neha only.
Despite knowing how sensitive n fragile his relationship with Neha is , he still did the grave folly of hiring Neha's tutor with out , let alone taking her permission or asking for her opinion, not even bothering to inform her !!!
Dev's problem is he acts first n thinks later. N he thinks he knows what's good for the other person which may not be true at many situations.
He's making enemies right left n center , he knows very well how much his Mami is obsessed with her son , yet by twice insulting Vicky, he's making home enemies who, if joins hand with the likes of Khetri or some business opponent , can indeed prove to be very injurious for Dev. He lacked tact there.
Plus what right does he have to ask Sona to stay away from rest of his family members ?? All he can say is, don't interfere in my life my business. But whether she'll connect with his sisters , it's absolutely their call.
But I like that Dev's character is full of flaws at this time. It makes for a very interesting character trajectory in my opinion n gives scope for the character to get better with time.
