Asha aur prateeksha mein people spend entire life afterall it is only 14 years. Urmila broke not only lakshman and sita with that dialogue but broke me too.She didn't cry.tears started flowing from my eyes. In a society where wives don't allow their husband's to do their normal duties towards his family this woman allows her husband to be away from her for 14 years. And she says she can live the 14 years in wish and hope. What is the difference between desire and wish. Both are something you want. But desire makes you obsessed. You concentrate more on the object of your desire.it doesn't matter what others think. You want your desire by hook or crook. But wish yes you want. But means is as important to you as destination. You give importance to other person feeling. Sometimes you accept life for what it is,sometimes you wait with hope and determination for life to grant you your wish.you can wish don't desire.another thing is hope. That light which says everything will be fine. In life difficult situation if our wish makes us want to live, hope provides the fuel for the life. So in any difficult situation keep your wish and hope it will be fulfilled. Prepare for the worst but hope for the best. Wish helps you in that. But desire won't

Shruthi, I too let the tears she would not let fall from her eyes ,flow from mine. What a sacrifice and that too with free will. That whole scene lacked drama and thus had the genuine feel. That is the real sacrifice isn't it...understanding and fully supporting your partner's wishes, not the blind adherence to his every whim .Referring to your post on Mandodri again, but This is what distinguishes Sita and Urmila from Mandodri. If you see Mandodri's 'sattitva' {I don't like that word, but have to do as needs must😉}reeks of her ego and self -pride while Sita's sattitva {when she is kidnapped
]is all about her self respect and dignity and Urmila's sattitva is about removing all the impediments from her husband's adherence to his duties. In this Skr,Mithila and her daughters have made aplace in my mind and heart.

Urmila is my fav character from the show.
She is strong and understanding. She didnt cry and try to stop Lakshman and instead became his biggest emotional support. She understands his duty towards his brother and doesnt try to interfere in his duty.Today women like Urmila are rarely seen who show such unconditional love towards thoer husband and dont interfere in their duty.
She is strong for she is ready to wait for 14 years for her husband. The way she understand Lakshman's decision even when he was hesitant to tell her has made me fall in love with her.
She made me emotional. Even I felt tears in my eyes. She stands out as a great women.

Very nice post Shruthi...generally I don't get flown in emotions wen i see TV especially..(in movies, it's different though 😉 ). But urmila's scene yesterday and today made me emotional...my heart went for her...wat a gr8 lady she was...hope and wish are now only her support to spend 14 years in rajbhawan...dats wat z d epitome of being positive and dats how only she was able to pull off those 14 years dat r in no way less than an exile.

Desire is wat kaikayi showed...hope is wat Urmila showed

Yes...Urmila stole the show completely. Her dialogue with so much poise brought tears to my eyes. She is a great woman and her sacrifice is unparalleled. That was the only scene that stood out yesterday.

I agree Shruthi.
Urmila's words made the tears that she held in fall down my cheeks. Yukti nailed this scene. Yesterday was her show. As Sita said, Urmila has set a new standard for women.
I bow down to this amazing woman, the wife of Lakshmana, the sister of Sita, for her amazing courage and patience, for her fantastic sacrifice, and most importantly, for her absolute love, and Dharma-dedication towards the Raghuvanshis. They were blessed to have her.
