Rama felt the pain today. Not at the boons but at his father's condition. And more at Kaikeyi not showing confidence in him. He would have moved away from throne even if asked in his dreams.

We all know Rama to be wise, calm, detatched, sweet-natured and brave. Those qualities showed up before this coronation drama unfolded. But his Satya-vrata is put to test here and demonstrates that now.

Dharma has 3 main components. Satya, brahmacharya and ahimsa. And Satya is reality or existence. Rama has to prove that his father's words are real. ie. he has to make sure that whatever was promised by Dasharatha materializes in spirit and content. That is his single-point mission.

In such a complicated situation when so many lives and so many fates are at stake, he has a single-point agenda. That 'my father's words should come true'. He could and can handle all the turmoil around it as he sees the focus and keeps focus. People plead with him, argue with him but he keeps the focus. And that makes his job easy.

And how does one develop such focus. Well its a hard act to emulate. This single reason is why Rama is unparalleled and called as the epitome of Dharma as practiced by a man.

Today was Kausalya's turn for shock and grief. The biggest sufferer in this for no fault of hers. Hardly consulted for anything, her life revolves around Rama. Always loving towards everyone.

They brought down the dramatic quotient and beauty of this by assembling everyone in the Sabha. Had they gone the way of Valmiki Ramayan or Tulsi Ramayan, Rama hears it from Kaikeyi and goes to Kausalya and then to Seetha. So many great moments would follow.

Seeta actually is busy praying and decorating her room in anticipation of his coronation. Rama who is very stoic so far, goes to her with his head down. Because, he can be himself with her.

And their conversation is most interesting and intriguing. Lets see how that pans out.

Today, I could not understand when Rama said to his people that whatever decision is taken is for the good of humanity. Too prophetic.

But yesterday's scene still resonates. The way Rama is shocked, dejected and yet shows love and compassion towards Kaikeyi. Ashish did really great yesterday.

Well written👏
One of the most important lessons that Shri Ram gives us is to not further strike an already wounded and defeated heart. The way Ram as a son brought to reality his father's words is something we all know. The strength it takes not to speak one word in question to Dasharath about why this was done.. that makes Ram exceptional. He never wanted an explanation frim his father nor did he blame Dasharath for turning his life upside down in a matter of minutes.
Ram is rather extremely compassionate to understand the broken man's distress and does his part to relieve him. There is a part in Valmiki Ramayan when Ram wants to meet his father just before leaving for vanvaas. The words of comfort he gives his dad 👏 there is only one Ram and that is what makes him the ONE.

I totally agree on your take that the news breaking in the sabha has taken away the beauty of what could have been. But I do want a separate scene where kousalya again pleads with Ram to take her with him as she has nothing left in Ayodhya. .. I would also like to see her confront king Dasharath and laments about her fateam as she takes of what sins she could have done to have to bear this.. of the 3 queens, Kousalya has been the least sketched in SKR. I hope they do this beautiful character full justice. Kousalya s grief was inexplicable. That has to be shown. It is as important as showing Kaikeyi's hardened stance.

Ashish's performance was indeed commendable. The tears swelling up in his eyes and yet maintaining a calm face, is difficult even in normal situations, let alone acting. And the way before going up to the Praja he is nervous shows that life can even pose as a challenge in front of great people. But it is with what actions a person responds to it.
Even Dashratha's grief and his sudden change in body movements make people actually think that he was been struck hard. As we saw in the promo, we will now see Sitas take on this. Lets see how she'll take everything in.

Today Rama showed us to look for positivity in everything and everyone that comes your way. We don't know why we meet someone, why we go through certain things be it happy or sad or misery.
Loved it when he said that his capacity to serve is limited if he becomes king of Ayodya whereas with the vanvaas he can serve entire humanity.

Today's episode was a tear-jerker. The way Dasharatha became a baby in Rama's hands and the way Rama could not pacify him. That scene was too good.

Rama's words to Lakshmana were great too. Rama convinces him and in turn Lakshmana puts a price on it. All this happening even before Rama talks to Sita!! hmmm.

Makers are in a big hurry to move to Vanavas.

Today's most poignant scene was Dasharatha begging Sita... more than Kausalya- Rama interaction. Not in the original but well crafted and touching. Dasharatha loses all hope when Sita says, "whatever Rama will do will be uchit in every way and morally correct too'. Because, he knows that it means he will go no matter what. And how he pleads to an already weeping Vashishta. Truly poignant.

Rama agreed to Lakshmana. Felt out of place without the conversation with Sita. Since this involves Urmila, the conversation with Sita is important to put things in perspective.

Rama-Kausalya conversation was good.

There are a lot more conversations left still. Urmila and Lakshman, Ram and Sita ones apart, Kousalya-dasarath, Sumitra and Lakshman are 2 other conversations I want to see. The Sumitra - Ram scene seemed short and incomplete. While Kousalya and Ram's conversation was good. Ram and Lakshman seemed to also end abruptly. They go together to Kousalya and Sumitra.. so I hope we get them with continuity.

They are giving their own take and making it seem like a jigsaw puzzle. At this point, Urmila should have known her destiny. Right?

Today it came down to biggest question of all. Of Sita's dharma which is intrinsically and inseparably tied with Rama's.

They tried to divide the conversation. But I would say with certainty that showing Ram-Sita conversation in one go would have had much more effect dramatically. Valmiki Ramayana showed Sita as a much stronger woman. She pleads and pleads but doesn't let him go.

Sumitra hearing that conversation was so out of place. This Ayodhya has no privacy.

This non-linear, jig-saw puzzle like picturization is not helping and could have been much better.

I think Rama goes back on his promise to take Lakshmana. And Lakshmana reminds him. So yeah, there might one more conversation.

Dasharatha meanwhile has moved into the past as he sees no future without Rama.

Sumitra is at the right place at wrong time or wrong place at the right time.

There is definitely one more rama-kausalya conversation. And rama requesting dasharatha to treat her mother with care.

Sita's sisters asking her dido to stay back was so childish. Not the request but the reason. That they promised each other to be together. I thought these sisters have moved up in maturity a teeny-weeny bit. It's between parents n son and husband - wife. They still talk about clinging to her pallu?
