Planes & Platitudes

He went to his meeting, Ranjan picked up Sahana at 7 ish from Sam's II wasnt home yet

Sahana was crabby and sad, enveloping Ranjan with both arms she just lay on his shoulder, attempting to suck her thumb, and found her middle and ring finger Sam noticed
An attempt to comfort herself as she lay on someone that smelled like her home
Familiar and soothing

Ranjan hugged her tight and patted her back she finally dozed

"saara din ek second nahi soyi" Sam was startled

"I wish he could have come home sooner"

"Ishita ka kya scene hai?" Sam asked

"Dono ki ladai khatam nahi hoti"

Sam was shocked

Tan had avoided talking to her about it, R&B had hung out with Nandu and gone off to his meeting'Sahana had played with Nandu all day long, not drinking even half a bottle of what II had pumped
Just crying now and then and playing

"Bache woh Ma ke ghar chhod aayi, isne bawaal machaya"

Sam chuckled

"Tu has rahi hai?" Ranjan asked shocked

"He hates her Dad" she said suddenly serious

Ranjan nodded

"Usne waha se bache NA laane ki qasam khayi hai, aur isne, laane ki" Ranjan squirmed

"they both have SUCH BIG EGOS"

"Bas main to yeh darta hoon Manya Sanjeev jaisa kuch hona nahi chaida hai" Ranjan shuddered

"NOOO" Sam was confused and shocked and in disbelief...

"Ladenge nahi mahina phir 4 paanch din ek doosre ko kacha chaba jaayenge"

"She does so much for the family"
Ranjan nodded ashamed

"He is so selfish, he wants to live in Paris, and visit when he can... and when he is here he doesnt want the kids to see their grand parents" Sam spoke in a whisper

"Soyi hai teri MIL?" Ranjana sked sipping chai

"Bachi mujhe deejiye Dad" Sam requsted, nodding

"Na naa... huney soyi hai" he said softly

Sahana stirred and moaned... completely beat up

"Did u tell him, its OK... for the boys to be there?" Sam asked

"Tu aisi gallan kar rahi hai jaise meri gal osne turant maan lena hai" Ranjan was angry

"Aap ne Mr Iyer se baat ki? Aunty kaisi hain?" Sam asked tentatively

"Unka kya hai jee, dono shaitan hai waha, woh tey ek dum mauj mein hongey" Ranjan sighed smiling fondly

Sam smiled

"they are SO ADORABLE, "Yeh bhi Dad... "Amma kaho na isko, ek dum uchhalti hai... R&B ko dhoond rahi thi saara din,
"Maine Daddeee kaha she LOOKS UP" sam laughed heartily

"Kitne pyaare bache hain... aur humne socha isko Marliese se kabhi fursat milegi nahi, shaadi karne ho" Sam continued

Ranjan had almost forgotten about her it looked it he sat up startled

"Marliese" he said with a faraway look

"Aap to BHOOL bhi gaye?" Sam laughed

"Yaad rakhne ki kedi waja haigi dass mainnu" "Vekh jara gudiya nu" he cooed to his daughter

She is a bowl of sugar" Sam nodded

"Mujhe laga yeh shaadi kabhi nahi karega, aur bache to door ki baat hai" Sam said thoughtfully

"Abhi chaaron ne ghar pe toofan macha rakha hai"

"Nivi is like MA" Sam said with pride

"Ekdum elegant" Ranjan agreed immediately

"This one is like II" she said

Her mother in law came down the stairs

"Haan Bhallas mein koi aisa nahi hai" she said dismissively staring at the sleeping child

Sam was furious, but pursed her lips valiantly

II returned to MM at around the time Ranjan got to Shanti Niketan
The boys flew a lil wooden clothes pin turned into a plane
One was blue and one was green, it was a simple clothes pin inserted with with two popsicle sticks
Appa had helped them paint it

The sight of the boys delighte dher

Then the thought occured

"DUDE WENT AND BROUGHT THEM HOME?"

She was hopping mad

She stomped up the stairs
She couldnt find him

She realized she shud have asked the boys she ran to the balcony and peked down

"SIDDU HOW DID YOU COME HOME?" she shouted

"In the CAAAR" he shouted back from the lawn

She saw red

She decided to hunt him down

she ran down and looked everywhere, he walked out of the kitchen
Sipping Sam Adams

"SO U WENT AND BROUGHT THEM HOME?" she accused choking up

"HOW could u do that? U hate Appa SO MUCH?" she pleaded

He didnt respond

Appa had been in the bathroom he had stepped out and wandered to the lawn unnoticed
He didnt know II was home, he didnt notice her car in the drive way

"For u winning is everything no?" Ii piled on

He didnt look shaken or angry or furious
He just looked on expressionlessly

"U said you had a meeting at Claridges
I ASKED DAD to go pick her up from Sam's lekin tumhare paas ROHINI jaane ka time tha? Subah se Sam ke ghar bachi padi hai" Ii was distraught
"If u hate Appa so much you must hate me too because I am like HIM 100%" she said firmly
"When Amma asks u to visit Rhini from now on dont give her any shitty platitudes, just tell her plain
on the face "I wont come here unless I have to rescue my kids commando style" II was bitter and angst ridden

itna gussa II, looks like it's something else completely. She misses him like crazy, she won't tell him bacchon ka bahana bana kar she's fighting with the dude. And when you fight like this without reason and continuously it snowballs into somethin completely different. Oh goodness it doesn't seem it's ending anytime soon. But upon seeing appa she might perhaps mellow down a bit, jiska advantage dude zaroor lega.

And poor Sahana misses her mom and dad. She's hasn't even had any milk...tch tch II ignore him take care of your kids...but asking her to do that is like moving the Himalayas.!

Neither the fight nor the future updates seem to come to an end anytime soon ..
I just miss our 2 months old Nivi n the track we should be getting updates on ..

Translation of my earlier post

DEARLY MISSED

The bottled substitute her Amma had pumped out

Was spurned with a scowl by the adamant babe

Turning away her hungry face she threw the bottles away in disdain

She scanned for her Amma's and Daddee's face

every time someone cooed to her

She stared and smiled at her bua and Nandhu Anna

She laughed and played with no shut eye

She cannot voice her needs or express what she missed

Sucking her fingers loudly solace she sought in the arms of the patriarch

Her actions proclaimed what comfort she yearned for.

Being apart from him for such a long spell

Coaxing and cajoling infants clamoring for her attention

She longed for his comforting presence

The delay triggered annoyance and angst

Fretting and fuming on his arrival she exploded

The innocent twins rejoiced at their grand parents

To him it seemed they were held hostage by his adversary

He went ballistic at the fact that he was missing them

They hurled unkind words and taunts their imbroglio deepened

Naively the Angel voiced her fear of impending quarrels

Grief strikken already of Amma abandoning her bed

The waiting ten year old compounded the Daddee's woes

Triggered worst nightmares

Distraught at the turn of events he moved on

The family worried at the clash of their egos

The taunts of kin and fear of the panic stricken attendents

Maternal duties, guilt and work pressure mounting

She reached home welcomed by her twin delight

How they reached here the thought annoyed her

She fired relentlessly and uttered uncharitable words

Their battle ensued and the warriors

Positioned themselves for a fresh onslaught

Origami, Trump & Tabloid

The boys were overjoyed to be home
They chased a waddling Sahana from room to room
Ranjan brought a dozen balloons home from a hawker at Moti Bagh intersection

The house looked like someone had injected a drum of steroid into it

The lights were on on every floor every staircase, lawn periphery
The kids chased each other

Appa didnt stay for dinner "I am here to drop them off" he said content

II noticed he panted when he chased her lil men through the lawn

What Appa said was a blow to her gut

It seemed like everyone knew except her and she had ended up accusing dude of committing that unspeakable hate crime

Dinner was palak paneer bhindi and home made naan and kesar rice

Mavvy had cooked a ton... EVEN HE KNEW?

II fed Sahana with great difficulty

She was hungry now but too busy to nurse

She heard the boys on the floor and stiffened and giggled hiding in the folds of II's wrap

"they are NOT HERE" Ii smiled softly

She went delirious anyway

Even she missed them?

She stopped after feeding for 9 mins and got off and waddled to where they were

A househelp tracked her through the house
II went down ashamed and apologetic...

Packed dinner for Appa

There was rasmalai too

Ranjan was confused as to why II was so awkward and distant

She placed the rasmalai glass bowl in a sack without placing the rubber lid on it it leaked all over the sack and out of it

The twins flung paper towels rolled up as balls all over the kitchen she didnt get agitated
She just let them ride that prank

Nivi was dropped of at Macy's by Ranjan before he went to pick up Sahana from Sam's

When Nivi returned she showed the origami pelican and falcon and eagle her Mom had made
The enthusiasm was missing

R&B was ZIPPED

he spoke politely to Appa checked on Tamil Nadu politics

"Did they wake up last night?" he asked caringly

Appa smiled
"Only she sleeps with them no" he said sheepishly "After my knee surgery I have to take medication at night and I dont even wake up to go to bathroom
She slept in Ishita's room, I helped her put rajai on both sides of the bed, its an old Tanjore teak bed, its taller than most beds these days
She slept on the divan and they slept on the bed." Appa sipped his lassi

"Thatha... he pichi my pane" (he broke my plane) Sid sniffled and walked over to him wiping his moist finger on his shorts

Appa picked up the edge of his veshti "thatha style" and wiped off his nose with no disgust
Walked over to the sink and wahsed his hand

Reset Sid's plane

"They like Bournvita di" Appa declared to II

II smiled gently

"ennachu kanna busy day or what?" Appa asked

NO APPA
DAY WAS DULL
I ACCUSED MY HUSBAND OF GOING TO ROHINI TO BRING THE BOYS
I AM EXTREMELY ASHAMED
THIS IS WHAT YOUR GUILTY DAUGHTER LOOKS LIKE

II lowered her eyes

"She works too hard, she pretends like she doesnt miss the boys but she did" Ranjan said smugly

A guilty flush covered II's face... as her heart hammered... she smiled slowly

"Its hard for me Appa" she admitted

R&B didnt look up from his plate

He fed Nivi rasmalai as Nivi crafted a origami mouse

Macy's mom had sent a box with color paper and an instruction book as gift

"I wud say that looks like a cross between a deer and a rabbit" he said

"Dadddeee"

Sid grabbed a bird from the dining table and flew it much to Nivi's horror

"They always want my things" she said proudly

He leaned and kissed her cheek

"And u are always POKY" she said

Sahana sat under the table sucking on a mango sliver Mavvy had cut for the kids

Nobody knew HOW she got it

R&B searched where she was, "is the gate closed?" he asked a fleeing Ved

"i dont know.. my pane is very fast and soopaNONIC" he made plane sounds and whizzed

Nivi chuckled secretly... R&B smiled fondly

"Amma is having, I mean Mrs Iyer is having a religious singing event two Fridays from now, can you come?" Appa asked

"Yes we will" R&B nodded

"Ishita is being asked to sing, she is REFUSING" Appa tattled

"Sollitten" he said gleefully looking at his daughter (I tattled)
II nodded but didnt smile

Ranjan noticed it too

R&B did too, when their gaze met she felt a quick rush of emotion and tears threatened to leak out
She turned rapidly

Barely able to see Appa off... he had parked ACROSS the street, no wonder she missed his car and didnt know he had brought the twins home

Ranjan saw Nivi to bed

R&B brought the other three up stripped a sticky orangy Trump like Sahana she screamed and threw a hissy fit much like Trump waving her fat hands

Wanting to get in the tub FIRST

"Me me me me me me" she scowled

The boys took 45 minutes splashing and firing water guns

Sahana took 50

II's belly churned as the clocked ticked, he brought Sahana to her for feeding the lil fatso finally had a full meal and slept with a dull snore

"I am sorry" she said when he returned after putting the boys down for the night

"Thats fine" he said waiting to head out to the balcony

"I am sorry" she repeated

"Didny just say that?" he asked blandly, not amused not angry

II sat with her head hung

"I didnt see Appa had parked across the street" "I jumped to a conclusion that since you said u were going to go get them... u would have" "U know"
"Does that even make sense?" she asked embarrassed

"It doesnt matter II, the day after I kissed u assumed I wud sell those pictures to a tabloid remember?" he asked and walked out to the balcony shutting the door behind him
