Uff I was actually predicting that dialogue. And that symbolism too. CVs didn't disappoint me. Sona has come for Dev's mom. But what she tries to do. Go to Dev's room.

But I don't ishwari will go behind sona to get her for his son, she has made it clear that she will select a bride for dev , and sona is independent .. so its gonna be a tuff fight btwn them. THAT'S my pov

Ofcourse Iswari is not the type that goes behind the girl to get her as his wife. And Sona may not be willing to be a submissine daughter in law of a possessive mother . So there will be friction between,Dev and Sona, Sona and Iswari,and ofcourse Iswari and Dev. It will be interesting to watch how the story moves ahead. But the first day of Sona at Dev's house lived up to expectations with Iswari's natural acting ,Sona 's restrained demeneur and Ofcourse Dev's vibrance and energy.

. they were polite and being really nice with each other but still keeping in character and not doing a complete 180 degree so far as their equation goes
what is my question is why'd Ishwari disapprove of Sona ?? will it be because she'd think that Sona is a gold digger ?? or because Sona will be Dev's own choice ??

@guys Ishwari wont directly go to Sona, but most probably situation will come in such a way that only Sona can support Dev, then Ishwari will have no option but stand behind her, when irrespective of her equation with Ishwari she stands for Dev. Kind of reverse. Today irrespective of her equation with Dev, as a doctor Sona has come for Ishwari@anna it can be many things. Her being Bengali can be one. You heard Ishwari right. No fish for me. So non-veg food habits which she might not approve, her caste or whatever. Dikshit surname is that of Brahmins, whereas Boss is a Hindu surname but not Brahmin. A traditional person will have lot of issues with such thing.

What I thought was however slightly different , I thought that with him telling her that his mom's room is on the other side probably was foreshadowing what would happen , like she was going to enter Dev's room (heart) but the route to his heart could never be direct it was through his mom , and that's why she was redirected.

Yes Aphrodite. You are in right in a way. But how will she get Ishwari's approval. Only when the world turns its back at Dev, she has to stand for Dev.

What I think is Ishwari would not like to follow Sona's tight diet schedule for her. There will be a friction between them for this. Ishwari cannot choose Sona because she might think everybody will have to follow her diet schedule if she becomes her bahu. Sona might become liberal afterwards with her mother when she is in love with Dev.
