Ajabde Punwar, rejected by her father, hurt by her fate, yet with a heart of gold. She was accompanying her only friend and companion back to the place she called Home. While the spoilt pampered princess had a carpet of Petals laid out for her and all she cared about were jewelry and looks, Ajabde found solace in the Ramayana. She pushed aside the petals and carefully walked out without crushing any.
"Hum e phool o pe chalna accha nahi lagta." Her thoughts won hearts.
Kunwar Pratap Singh Of Mewar. He was on a mission of self discovery. Hurt after his Meera Maa left he was out there, living in disguise and roaming the Bundi borders . People say when you have a void in life, it's filled with something greater. He didn't know what was in his fate.
Early Mornings. A bath on the same river. Destin y. She lost her protection. Her Maala. He found it around his neck. Why? Because god was protecting her protector. The one who would protect her with his life if needed. God made Destiny.
He tried to get rid of the maala hard but in vain and accepted it. She tried to search for it in vain and lost hope.
A grand fair. The princess wanted bangles. Disguised as maids they escaped their Khema. He was searching for a mean to get to the fair. Dressed as A commoner he was riding a bull cart. She spotted the cart in a flash. He unknowingly saved her for the first time when she was sttanded in the middle of nowhere, taking her on a journey with him. Their destination was same.
At the Mela, Ajabde stumbled upon his real identity. And she was starstruck at THE kunwar Pratap. His simplicity, honesty and humbleness. So unlike Royals yet the most Royal. She blushed. She smiled. Like a fan does seeing the idol.
He saved her yet again, when he picked up a fight with Jalam Singh as she made a hasty escape. Destiny was smiling already. The starstruck girl knew everything by now.
"Nadi ke usspaar ka khema unhi ka hai."
She told her excited friend who had a close call but missed spotting him. She saw him ride away; not knowing his destination was yet again same as hers. She had no idea who the royal guest was, only knew her duties as a host. More, her duty to Laxmi came first. He was lost in trail to Bijolia. At last he could spot the Bijolia mahal.
"Itna vinamra aur sidha sadha Rajkumar hum ne kabhi nahi dekha Laxmi."
Destiny smiled as he couldn't find the main entrance and jumped in to the stable. Fate led him to the cow shed. He had lost his way. She would always steer him to the right path.
"Suniye." And Splash!
It is said we welcome guests home by washing their feet, wives do that as to them husbands are Narayan swaroop. Unknowingly, accidentally, Ajabde Punwar had done her bit. She looked wide eyed at the stranger who was not a stranger. She fumbled an apology.
"Sh...sh...shama Kijiye woh..."
He was confused at the reaction. Never had he seen a girl give this reaction. Everytime, there were mother, sisters and aunties, but a reaction like this? Never. He looked confused at the girl he mistook as a cowgirl.
There was a moment of silence between them as her almond eyes met his brown ones. Destiny had a long way for them to go.
