And if we're to discuss about who'd have married the other or not, then very clearly it's Ishita who'd gained a lot as she had literally no options left. FACT is Ishita had been rejected by man after man for years due to her infertility, her family had left no stone unturned to find a suitable groom for her since the time Subbu called of their marriage but they found none. On the other hand, Raman was one of the most eligible bachelors in town as the best CEO of India who's just in his early thirties (32 to be exact and Ishita was around 28-29). As usuual loud Toshiji brought her type of girls for Raman who're beauty with no brain but it's no secret that he's one of the most eligible bachelors in town without a doubt and many parents from reputed, respected families would have been proud to have him as their SIL. Hence, if we analyze the events based on facts shown in initial episodes of YHM, it's evident that things are exactly the opposite that you'd mentioned-- it's Ishita, NOT Raman, who'd been struggling for years to get married. Raman was one of the most eligible bachelors in town and if Raman wasn't trapped by Ashok-Shagun in the name of Ruhi's custody case (which happened thanks to Ishita), he most probably would have never married Ishita.
Another point, it's been pointed out Raman eventually became "good", before he was rude, arrogant. It's like he'd gone through transformation as a "person". This is another classic fallacy of Mani track that tried to HIJACK a love story of two broken souls as a story of the beauty and the beast. 😵 And the CVs succeed, many believed them as they calculatingly portray Raman outrageously rude spewing verbal venom at Ishita just before the entry of Mani track only to shift the ball of sympathy towards the beauty, Ishita, so that she got the credit of transforming the beast. That's why we saw CVs go ahead with this absurd, fake yet apparently TRP lucrative "the beauty and the beast" concept even after the Mani track, that's why we got Raman's so many UNCHARACTERISTIC "Dafa Ho Jao" shouting at Ishita in the subsequent tracks. NO, Raman DID NOT eventually become "good", that story of transforming the beast is a cent percent lie that CVs catered to the NEW TIME slot audience.
Raman has always been a gem of a person with his own flaws mainly due to the betrayal from Shagun. But as a person, as a human being...he was always SPOT ON. Even then he loved his daughter, family and friends immensely but didn't know how to express them as he made a self made invisible wall to guard his emotions that are once murdered by Shagun. Mihir, another gem of a person, knew how good his bhai was and that's why he didn't think twice to sacrifice his ladylove for his bhai. As I was saying Raman built an invisible wall and that's where Ishita came into play. With her care and love she pulled down that wall and set him free to express his love for his dear ones including his only solace at time of Shagun's betrayal, Ruhi-his daughter. Similarly, with care, trust and love, Raman pulled down Ishita's invisblie wall too; just like Raman realized not every woman is Shagun and Ishita also realized not every man is Subbu. That's beauty of OLD YHM which CVs murdered by their own hands with new time slot...with that goddamned Mani track. And since then, YHM is a gone case. It's not the track but the dangerous twisted notion did the ultimate damage to the show that we so hopelessly tried to voice out in the forum at that time.
PS: I'll explain how Ishita was NOT a Jagat Mata and how IshRa marriage was an act of pure selfishness from both Ishita and Raman in my next post of this thread as this rant is getting very lengthy. 😆
