I've been through hell myself ... cos of a family member ... that person didn't even realise my pain in spite of me telling on her face. This world is a selfish place & people who endure it; know it.

She will always be overly self-sacrificing bc she is a prime time bahu & they celebrate women who are apparently supposed to sacrifice all for others.

I have a different perspective on marrying Raman for Ruhi. Both were being almost selfish for the marriage. Raman needed someone to love and care for Ruhi as a mom, and Ishita loved Ruhi and wanted to be her mom. It's not a bad thing at all - in fact I like it. Her yearning to be Ruhi's mother and connection overpowered her, and both compromised in a sort of arranged marriage. In the end both agreed bc they gained much more than they lost.

Ishita's selflessness (and even Raman's) on the other hand has become grotesquely presented bc of the slot and what SP's vision of a good/ideal woman is , but why should women be celebrated bc they make sacrifices...like shouldn't we want a society that doesn't expect women to bend always? Ishita, to me, is the most relatable when she is selfish for her happiness bc at the end of the day we are all a mix of selfish and selfless...not one or the other
