😊After going through so many weird and less weird tracks, the cvs have now introduced us to the father son relationship track..between karna and vrishasen...it had such a large potential to be a beautiful track..but the cvs with their great brains have turned the track in a hate rivalry track..not that we won't like some cool banters but karna's own son blaming him for never caring, I don't know what to say about this...in all the books and texts I have read about Karna, vrishasen was depicted as a loving and devoted son...guess the track will progress as such...also the laxmana and saam's relationship is news to me..does anyone know about it?
p.s. Still its nice to see the child karna back😉

I think Saam is Samb, the story of Samb marrying Dury's daughter is mentioned in Bhagwat Puraan (not is proper Mahabharat). But Karna Vrihsena bitter relation?😭😭😭. Did they show Vrishketu as of now?

In one story I heard Duryodhan had a son by name Lakshmana Kumara who wanted to marry Balaram's daughter Sasirekha but Abhimanyu ends up marrying her. But now the story took complete inverse of that. Lakshmanakumara became Lakshmana a girl and instead of Sasirekha they introduced a new character Shyam, son of Krishna (I thought Pradhyumna was son of Krishna). So I am now learning an entire new Mythological naration. Wow!

I dug up some wiki stuff. here is the story of Lakshmana Samba.
"Samba grew up to be a nuisance to the Yadavas, Krishna's clan. Lakshmana, who was the daughter of Duryodhana and twin sister of Laxman Kumara had come of age.[9] Her father arranged her swayamvara, and many princes came to win her hand. Samba had heard of Lakshmana and wanted to marry her, although she was not inclined to him. He went to her swayamvara and abducted her forcefully. He defeated the Kuru maharathi's who pursued him but was finally caught. He was arrested by the Kuru elders and thrown in prison. Lakshmana's swayamvara was re-arranged but no other prince was willing to marry her, since it was considered that a woman abducted by another man belonged to that man, although the other princes were actually afraid of the Yadavas who might attack them on Samba's behalf. Balarama, who was fond of his notorious nephew went to Hastinapur to bail him out. The Kurus insulted Balarama who became enraged and started smashing up the palace. Duryodhana apologized for their conduct. Balarama was pacified and ordered the Kurus to free Samba. Duryodhana then affectionately married his daughter off to Samba and the marriage was celebrated in pomp and show."

Yup..as if karna being hated by others was not enough, they had to make his own son bitter with him

Lakshman Kumar willing to marry Balaram's daughter is another story (although it is not in any Puran rather is just a forklore) Duryodhan was Balaram's favorite shishya. He had earlier arranged his marriage with his sister Subhadra, but Subhadra eloped with Arjun and their alliance could not happen. The next time he decided to get his daughter married off to Duryodhan's son, the alliance was fixed, but Sasirekha loved Abhianyu since childhood (remember Abhimanyu spent his childhood in Dwarika (with his monther Subhadra) when the Pandavas were in exile, Subhadra had then gone to her Mayka.
Krishna ji knew that both Sasirekha and Abhimanyu loved each other, so he with the help of Ghatochkat made the lovers unite. This story actually is no where documented and is in much probability false (one might argue that Arjun married his first cousin, but cross cousin marriages were not very common those days especially in Chandravanshis, Yaduvanshis(who were considered lower to the pure line Kshatriyas) on the other hand did follow this practice, (it is probably due to this reason that it was Subhadra who loved Arjun before marriage and not vice versa, probably he could not have even thought about Subhadra in those lines. I would definitely not even think of my Bhaiyaa, my bua's son on the terms of getting married), also in this story Lakshman was shown as a stupid ugly fellow, which he certainly wasn't. He might not have been a great warrior, but was still good enough

Lakshmana and Saamb story (yes it is Saamb and not Shyam which is one of the names of Krishna ji) is a more authentic one as it finds its mention in the Bhagwat Puran. Saamb was the so of Krishna ji and his second wife Jamwanti. (Pradyumna as you said was the son of Krishna ji as well but he was from his first wife Rukmini) had started loving Lakshmana who was the twin sister of Lakshman Kumar and a very beautiful girl. Saamb was a very beautiful person, in a female attire he could easily give challenge to the most beautiful girls of those time. Lakshmana also had some liking for the Yadu prince but it was not as great as to elope with him. Saamb decided to abduct this girl and take her to Dwarika, but while he was leaving for Dwarika, the soldiers of Duryodhan caught hold of him, and Duryodhan arrested Saamb. When this information reached Dwarika, both Krishna ji and Balaram got anxious and the latter decided to attack Dwarika, Dury as I already said was Balaram's teacher, so he went to him. Balaram loved Saambb dearly and so he asked for Saamb's immidiate release and marriage of Saamb and Lakshamana to which Duryodhan readily agreed. Saamb and Lakshamana was said to be a very lovey dovey couple in fact

ever furious in battle, roved there, excited with drink and adorned with floral wreaths of great beauty and with costly attires, and disported themselves like a pair of celestials. And Akrura and Sarana and Gada, and Vabhru, and Nisatha, and Charudeshna, and Prithu, Viprithu, and Satyaka, and Satyaki, and Bhangakara, and Maharava, and Hardikya, and Uddhava, and many others whose names are not given, accompanied by their wives that followed by bands of singers, adorned that mountain-festival. When that delightful festival of immense grandeur commenced, Vasudeva and Partha went about, together, beholding everything around. While wandering there, they saw the handsome daughter of Vasudeva, Bhadra by name, decked with every ornament, in the midst of her maids. As soon as Arjuna beheld her he was possessed by the god of desire. Then, O Bharata, that tiger among men, Krishna, observing Partha contemplate her with absorbed attention, said with a smile, 'How is this? Can the heart of one that rangeth the woods be agitated by the god of desire? This is my sister, O Partha, and the uterine sister of Sarana. Blest be thou, her name is Bhadra and she is the favourite daughter of my father. Tell me if thy heart is fixed upon her, for I shall then speak to my father myself.'

Shipreeta, your whole rendering of Lakshmana Samba story is quite true. But only the part where you wrote Subhadra loved Arjun,Arjun did not even think of such marriage that is not given in MBH BoRi or any version. The above post is from KMG translation. It was clearly stated Arjun fell in love or attracted to her at the very first sight. Krishna endorsed it clearly. Marrying Bua's son is acceptable. In those days and even today such marriages are in practice.Krishna married Nagnajiti his uncle's daughter as per Maha Bhagawat.Actually Star Bharat distorted Subhadra episode by showing Arjun disinterested towards her. He is totally smitten by her and her being his uncle's daughter made his task easier.Subhadra reciprocated by readily accepting her abduction with beautiful smiles. So such marriages do happen then and now.But what is absurd is Vrishasen's friendship with Samba which is highly impossible.Samba can be a friend to Abhi but not to Vrishasen. After all Abhi lived in Dwaraka .
