So you are saying autism doesn't exist? Or are you saying there isn't any cause and they are just scaring us?

By and large no! As in the US no!, it is a proper developmental psychiatric disorder though and should be guaged by qualified doctors not counsellors and paramedics!. Instead of getting the real cases they just into stereotyping apparently slow learners as autistic... If Einstein was born today.. he would have been scarred as autistic and we wouldnt have E=mc2😊As long as there is no bio chemical way of measuring presence of autism and that is left only to the Psychologists.. this is going to be scam!!!Sadly the medical community though veri smart is trapped between pharma companies to try some new medicine.. (eventually to be recalled in a few years :)) insurance companies to align their diagnostic skill and judgemen, apparently an insurance code reader knows better than a doctor...t, lawyers and media to ensure they are not screwed with their lapse in judgement... now to judge some kid as autistic in this situation... think isnt there a good chance as to how impaired their judgement can be...

So you are saying autism is over-diagnosed? I also believe this to some extent. Autism is characterized by impaired social interaction, verbal and non-verbal communication. And there might be some kids who do not fully go into these sections, but get the autism diagnosis anyways. I know many parents who accept an over-diagnosis so that they can receive services in school for their child's delays.
But autism is very real. I see a living case right in my home actually that is a high-functioning autistic person. Just because one doesn't look stereotypical autistic, doesn't mean that they aren't autistic. A developmental delay can be a sign of autism...but doesn't necessarily mean that they DO have autism

Better awareness, diagnosis and treatment. Back in the day, Autism would be unnoticed, untreated, misdiagnosed, mistreated or unidentified.
