Why Are All Good-Looking Stars 'Bad Actors' ???

*Before you post in this topic, I have no ulterior motives of opening this topic, and I am not speficially talking about one specific actor/actress/creature. Please stay on topic and avoid personally attacking me. I have open this topic for constructive comments and nothing else*

This is the one thing I have seen EVERYWHERE the internet, and that is the Bollywood audience tends to be more harsh on people who are good looking. Almost every star that is hot is ridiculed and crucified...Granted that some of them may not be that great...but are they ACTUALLY as bad as people make them out to be?

Just off the top of my head...the most popular targets are: Aishwarya Rai, Siddharth Malhotra, Katrina Kaif, Shraddha Kapoor, John Abraham...some have even said that Deepika Padukone, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan are bad actors? Even in the olden days...people said Hema Malini was the worst actress...

Do you think that this is actually true? ARE they actually bad actors? Or are they overtly criticized due to their looks?

See the thing is that, I almost NEVER see a ugly or below-average looking person be criticized for their acting as much as I do with people who are better looking. I just find it weird, Im sure its not a coincidence.

i disagree its not how you look it's expressions that matter in films the actor should make you feel they are the character and portray the emotions properly

a bad actor is a bad actor no matter if they are beautiful or not

a good actor is a good actor no matter if they are beautiful or not

Its not only in bollywood also in Hollywood the best actors are always the average looking people. Those model type good looks doesnt really work in a long run. Dont know maybe people are too much focused on their beauty and then after a while it gets boring so they need to appear unappealing so that people starts to focus on their acting. But it also depends on the age if you are younger it doesnt matter you prefer good looking people but later that opinion changes mostly.

Probably because in BW if you are good-looking you can get away with being average...So complacency sets in... For example, I think Katrina knows very well that acting isnt her cup of tea...So she doesnt bother trying to improve it and instead concentrates on her dancing.

And no not all good-looking stars are bad actors...

Deepika is gorgeous and acts well, so does Kareena...

Among men Hrithik Roshan is an all-rounder...

It's probably cuz they think they can get away with almost everything so they don't try hard to improve.
