This song is from the movie Student of the Year and was played during the Dance Competition aspect of the Mrs. Amritsar contest on February 23 episode. What I find interesting about this song is it's title, the juxtaposition of Ishq and then Love which essentially are the same. I loved into the meaning of the word Ishq'. It is of Arabic origin and it means "love". The word is derived from " ashiqah', a vine: the common belief is that when love takes its root in the heart of a lover, everything other than God is effaced". The word "Ishq" holds a stronger meaning than the word "love" which is so prevalent today. Love is no longer used to describe feelings of genuine connection with another rather it has been reduced to a word that expresses things likes, dislikes, etc. This is a rather long song so I think I'm going to be super brief.

The love which happens more than a normal kind

I think it's pretty cool that the first line speaks of love like a ruby and Twinkle was wearing a ruby colored dress. It has been said that the Ruby's red glow comes from an internal flame that cannot be extinguished, making a gift of this stone symbolic of everlasting love. This connects with the next line where it talks about love as a burning sensation. I think these lines represent the intensity of Kunj and Twinkle's love for another. These lines hint at the longevity of their love. The next line makes me compare Yuvraaj and Twinkle to Kunj and Twinkle. It is clear that they latter couple has more depth to their relationship albeit it being arranged and shorter in length. I think this stanza helps one to see the quality of love Twinkle and Kunj hold for one another.
Hua jo dard bhi toh humko aaj kuch zyada hua
I had a pain which was more than ever before

I think the beginning portions correlate to how Twinkle and Kunj are walking on thin ice with the whole debacle on the participation in the contest. Both, mostly Kunj, have been vocal on why they feel they way they do. The third line works with how Kunj discusses how he feels around her, how she is no longer a responsibility but he does not know what to label it, just that something is happening more than before.

I have seen the morning even whilst my eyes were closed

This reminds me of the episode where Twinkle came home late and Kunj stayed up waiting for her even though she messaged him not to. I think the next couple lines indicate, once again, the new feelings that are blossoming that they are forced to face even if the other is not near them.

From behind the thin clouds
Kare chandani ye mujhko ittala
The moonlight sends me this message
Leke noor sara chand mera yahin pe hai chhupa chhupa hua
With all the Grace, my Moon is hiding nearby me

This part is interesting. I think Twinkle can represent the Moon here. Kunj knows something is going on which is why brings up how he is tired of her secrets today which connects to the message line but he also knows Twinkle is hiding something while being right there. It's driving him crazy that she's hiding why she is participating in this contest especially after she said she wouldn't.

The first half is basically Kunj solacing Twinkle as he often does. It seems to be a goal of his that she stays smiling (I always think of the song Hasti Rahe from the movie Saathiya) and he'd be willing to take all her sadness onto himself to do that. I think the star and wanting heart line is basically how Kunj thought there was progress in their relationship however now Twinkle has begun to retract (as far as he sees) and he wants her heart, he wants to know why she's doing what she is, what she is hiding. The second to last line connects to how he is unsure of his feelings as per what he wants from this marriage. I think he brings to the lack of love, etc. in order to see how she reacts. It's almost like he is testing her reaction to it.
Overall, I think this song can draw comparison between the previous relationships Twinkle and Kunj have had, how they were in "love" but not really. I think it's interesting that Yuvi was standing behind Twinkle during this dance perhaps indicating that he is her past love but not her ishq.
