PC will be just fine. She has a Bollywood film release in 2016, so there will be no gap in her filmography.

I just hope Deepika manages to shoot something for release in 2016. She's at the very top now, and the gap might do some damage.

Their career, their choice!

It gives me a sense of 2002-3 dejavu. When Ash was looking to expand her horizons abroad... 😆 During those years, her volatile relationship with Salman costed her a few big projects with SRK and perhaps others. The resulting outcome was prioritizing films like B&P, Mistress of Spices, Last Legion etc. The only movies she did were Rituda's and duds like KHGN and Shabd. Her career back home suffered and only revived post D2. Had the SRK fallout not happened, she would not have the bandwidth to do anything in the West. Certainly done films like Veer Zaara etc...

Around this time, Rani's career soared especially in 2004 & 2005. She had all the right projects and successes.

Surprisingly, PC and DP both don't have any big roles back home announced. Either it didn't come to them to take their graph to the next level and therefore, they felt it was better to expand horizons rather than waiting at home. Smart move though. But getting involved in these projects, limits how much time you can spend on movies back home. PC mentioned this too.

It's a risk either way.

And lastly as far as Hollywood is concerned, they (or anyone else) will be only successful in the long term when mainstream American films have roles for Indian actors. So far, NONE have managed to get anything that ends up even being taken seriously (critical acclaim, nominations, wins) etc.

There are many other less inhibited latinas and other exotic females who can adjust to the "demands" of a role in Hollywood films.

PC & DP will only be able to go so far with their "Indian" limitations (same problem Ash had) and top wrung directors won't bend backward to customize the roles to suit them. Just saying... That's the bitter truth about HW.

And there is no concept of #1 Heroine or "Queen" in Hollywood. So let's not mock the industry or actors...

That's a very Indian media thing. The mentality to compete always and have only one spot for the fickle top position. 😆

I think the surprise might be Irfan-dp next in that amrita role produced by SLB since slb is announcing he's next production film 😆 Or it's just in my dreams🤣

both pc and dp are too smart girls. They are such hard working girls but also kangana is extremely hard working and only focusing in hindi films while pc-dp has shifted their focus to hollywood

btw hollywood might not have number 1 or queen but they do have stars who are paid much higher because of popularity. The most popular actors are paid the most especially people like Julia roberts, angelina jolie, brad pits and so on

totally taken out of context. Perhaps you missed the line where Nina said I really enjoying dining with you? Why would she then follow to 'apparently mock' her?

Rid the mentality where two women HAVe to be pitted against one another. Women in hollywood DO get along with their co-stars.

pay-rolls in hollywood match box-office success.. Men have it much, much easier. Adam sandler (🤢) still brings in millions for his flop-fests.

In terms of pay check Robert Downey Jr , Tom Cruise and Johny depp are still the highest paid . Where RDJ is solely cashing on a franchise , Depp has been delivering flops since ages . But it's pretty much like Bollywood only where men at 53 are getting millions of dollars but women of the lot don't get much into their pockets .

But Hollywood still is different , big stars don't have female leads as flowerpots only , for example most of the films if Tom Cruise had strong and effective roles for female leads .

It is too early to come to the conclusion that PC & DP will regret their decision. The shooting has just started. We don't even know exactly what kind of part they are playing in the movies. Remember when the news of PC doing Quantico came? Speculators were laughing saying PC is doing a side role on television and she will regret. But the success of it and her following feat (like winning PCA, appearance in SAG, Oscar, getting role in hollywood film) made these speculator to eat their own words. These same speculators are singing different tune now, saying how proud PC has made them😆

When George Clooney became famous with his television stint, the first movie he did was a B-grade horror film called "Return to Horror High". Now look where he is now.

He gave example of Penelope Cruz who was a big Spanish star before entering Hollywood. Her first hollywood film was The Hi-Lo Country where she played a small supporting role. Eva Mendes was a part of 2 Fast 2 Furious(in his word is a formulaic franchise) and Eva Longoria is only known for her Desperate Housewives character.

Anything is possible, just because Aish couldn't make it doesn't mean PC & DP also won't be successful. These three have tried what Bollywood actors or directors couldn't do it. They deserve our support and huge applaud.👏
