In Hollywood Sienna Miller was kicked out of Robin Hood because she made Russel Crowe look old and fat. So it's safe to say that chauvism takes place in show business as a whole. Not only in Bollywood.

But to answer the question I think it's because the men are more bankable and most often than not, they are their heroine's seniors.

I don't think so. If that was the case, he would have already been in the 100 cr club by now. The fate of his career is not decided by an actress as much as you would like to think so.

Depends on what actor, I think. Some of them are that way cause their fans treat them like gods and even actresses have big egos too. In some cases celebs think they can do no wrong. :/ we are not perfect as humans.
