Mother's genes? Her mother did not choose acting as a career. It was thrust upon her. She appeared in films from the age of 4. She was forced by her parents at 14/15 to star with grown men more than twice her age. Sri's story is actually very sad.

I like that she is enrolled in Lee Strasburg which is the alumni of people like Angelina Jolie and Scarlett Johanssen. But it is also the alumni of Bai Ling I think who has not done a remarkable role which I remember. You can only work with what you have. Talent, even generational or belonging to a film family will not guarantee you that. The Kapoors are the greatest example of exceptional and terrible talent in equal measure. Even siblings belonging to the same parents will not have the same talent as can be demonstrated by Kajol who is a how to be an actor and her sister who is how not to be an actor.

Jhanvi is the daughter of someone who has had success in various industries from childhood. Very few people have the acting resume or veneration of Sridevi as an actress by not just Hindi speaking but all four Southern regional languages too which few actors or actresses in BW have. This will absolutely stand against Jhanvi as the judging pool is wider. If she makes her debut with Aryan, two platinum spoon starkids of high achieving parents will be judged by everyone and compared everything from looks to dancing to everything. Sridevi has stellar work in her teens even and that will work against Jhanvi. I hope for her sake she does not debut with KJO or Aryan, but take a role that focuses more on acting than fluff. South is better I feel and introduction later in Hindi. It is tough being the daughter of a uber talented person as Shruti Hassan has amply demonstrated. Her resume is actually not too shabby but when you are the daughter of a KamalHassan, it is very hard to stand up to that. Sridevi is one the rare people who matched acting giants at a very young age in multiple industries and came out on top. Jhanvi has big shoes to fill, even bigger than Aryan IMO.
