Being young has never been easy, and history has proved that. For India's sunrise BPO industry, it has not been an easy task being a young and happening spot.

Young - in terms of age and also its average members being in the 19-21 bracket - and happening - for being in the midst of a lot of action. Apart from bringing economic independence to youngsters straight out of college, BPOs have also brought about a change in the way young India talks and thinks.

From American accents to higher disposable incomes to branded clothes and accessories and an increasing US way of life, thanks to living life US time, young India seems to be more at ease with the American dream.

There has also been a change in the social milieu, with youngsters lapping up the fast life and shedding their inhibitions.

While this has brought about a sense of change in the thoughts and views of many, there are some critics of this growing industry who feel that fast money and success are corrupting young minds and adding to moral degeneration.

Is the industry being targeted unfairly because of its young population?

great topic 👏

BPO is a industry which is run

by young India.Well its a easy way

of earing good money but trust me

most of people working in that industry

r people who have diffrent plans

when they enter the industry but with

money n glamour they continue n they

continue with it. although on negative note there are major health

problems stress, junk food and sedentary lifestyle

emerging as the biggest culprits, working people,

especially those in the BPO sector, must observe caution.

Sex and syringes (read drug abuse) at the workplace have for quite

a while been seen as issues in call centres

and business process outsourcing (BPO) firms, where employees are mostly young and work at night.

Now, some companies are cracking down on these activities,

in the fear that young drug users would be

easily susceptible to data and information theft.

there is negative aspect also.
Working in Bpo means killing your social life

although as a young indian i feel its great opportunity

for young grauduate"s but it depends on indiviual what they want to

do in life.Like after my graduation i thought of searching a job

although i was lucky i cracked up MBa entrance exam

n continue with my studies cause once u start earning

gettin back to studies r tough 😆 so i feel its good

opportunity for young grauduates to earn good money 😛

although one cannot ignore the negative aspect also 😊

It surely is altering young minds. Westernization was seeping in earlier now with BPO's etc India is getting flooded. Good or Bad ? 😕

but IMHO BPO's can take negative toll futuristically for a simple fact that youngesters earning easy bucks won't strive for bigger goals as there is lack of focus towards basic foundation that is education. How many of youngesters earning decent salaries at the age of 18 ys would pursue higher studies or professional courses ?

Unfortunately yes, as it seems like Urban India is becoming increasingly westernised, materialistic, consumerist and selfish (no offence meant).😕😳

By 18 years of age , one should have had basic education needed for survival and self sustainment.😉. If "bigger goals" mean financial or entrepreuner success then 18 years is a perfect age to start.

Good and bad

.Good because a lot of youngsters can help their families by geting into BPOs and the youngsters could pay the higher fees to be paid for higher studies.

Bad because these youngsters get a lot of money at the tender age which make them get into bad habits and get their life spoiled.there are a lot of exampiles in the neighbourhood.

Only 50% pursue higher studies . In Indian standerds, by 18 they may be passed only +2. As a parent, if my child asked permission/ opinion to choose a job in BPO, I will not encourage( may be mother in me is immature).Becuase a lot of expoitations are in the field of BPO jobs. If a girl has to face this with out proper education she cannot quit the job and stand independently with diginity Money is not all., If the youngesters can pursue education along with the job, it is OK with BPOs.
