Shahid Kapoor: Thank you Kareena, I have a life now!
Shahid Kapoor's just released romantic comedy Jab We Met has elevated his stature as an actor a few notches and the recent 'Jab We Seperated' turn in his romance with Kareena has made him a much sought after bachelor.
He is being linked to not one but two Bollywood leading ladies, even as Kareena Kapoor is coming across as the fool who rushed in where Saif loves to tread!
Amrita Rao, Shahid's co-star in the highly successful 2006 romantic film Vivah, was the first to be linked to him, even before his separation from Kareena became official. We termed it a red herring linkage because there wasn't anything to substantiate it.
Amrita confirmed our assessment when she recounted to HT what Shahid told her, when he invited her recently for the premiere of Jab We Met.
"Hey…you can't be so dry with me," he told her. "Be a little more romantic, don't you know we are supposed to be having an affair right now."
Next to be linked with Shahid was Vidya Balan, Shahid's co-star in Aziz Mirza's Lucky Charm. The two had spent over a month together in Toronto, Canada on the sets of the film, while Kareena was bonding with Saif in Ladakh and Rajashthan on the sets of Tashan.
Balan, with her beautiful girl in the neighborhood image, tends to be easily linked with her single co-stars. In the past she has been linked with John Abraham (Salaam-E-Ishq) and Saif Ali Khan (Eklavya).
So as soon as Shahid broke up with Kareena he qualified himself to be linked with Balan. And when he invited Balan for a trial show of Jab We Met Bollywood gossips engaged warp drive.
When asked if she was dating Shahid, Vidya's answer is a simple, "No".
She is however single and Shahid seems to have a charm not unlike hers so she keeps her option open. When asked if she could contemplate a relationship with Shahid her matter-of-fact response is"
"I am not thinking right now about what will happen in my personal life in future."
