CHAPTER 2. AND THE FUN BEGINS!

"Hoshiarpur? WHAT THE!", Arnav, standing in front of his car, stared at the signboard in shock. He came to Hoshiarpur alright! But not to the Chhabewal Village in Hoshiarpur District! He came to the village called Hoshiarpur which was the headquarters of the District!

"Damn!", Arnav kicked the tire of his car. That is why he never drove! Why did he even think of driving here himself? Ab bhugto! Arnav sighed as he sat back inside the car and slumped on the wheel. I must have taken a wrong turn somewhere! Double damn! He sat up straight as he looked around. Now what! He could drive back and look for signs to Chhabewal village but he had two reasons not to. First was that he might get lost again and second was that he was tired of driving since morning. It was late in the evening and he wanted to get some rest.

After few minutes of thinking, Arnav came to a decision. He would knock on the first house he sees in this Village and ask for some directions to some Hotel or Lodge. Then next morning with fresh mind he could find the Chhabewal village. He started the car and drove into the village. After few minutes, he reached a house and getting out of the car, knocked on it. A young girl opened the door and her eyes went wide at seeing him. Arnav blinked at the weird reaction. Never seen a guy in three piece suit or what?

"Aap Dilli se aayo ho?", the girl asked giggling.

Arnav blinked. How did she know? The girl must have taken his flabbergasted expression as yes because next thing Arnav knew she grabbed him and started to drag him in while shouting, "Woh aa gaye! Woh aa gaye!"

Arnav opened his mouth to tell the girl that he is not who she thinks he is when an elder man entered the hall and hugged him excitedly, "Aagaye beta! Aajaao baitho! Safar kaisa raha? Koi dikkat toh nahi hui na? Waise aap toh kal subah aane waale the! Itni jaldi kaise aagaye? Koi baat nahi! Aagaye wahi achcha kiya! Chai lenge? Ya coffee? Rano! Jaldi baahar aa! Dekh kaun aaya hai!"

Arnav could not even say a word as the man continued to talk non stop. He simply watched with wide eyes as a lady named Rano entered the room with plates filled with snacks and sweets.

"Yeh ladki kuch jaana pehchaana sa hai", Khushi mumbled. She had arrived early morning at Handa house. Both girls were hiding in the upper rooms and looking out of the window at the man seated below.

"Jaana pehchaane hai toh mujhe kya? Mujhe toh bilkul pasand nahi!", Geet made a face at the man.

Khushi rolled her eyes, "Tumhein toh koi bhi ladka pasand nahi!"

Both continued to look at the scene below.

"Arre! Khaake dekhiye toh sahi! Sab humaari Geet ne banaaya hai!", Rano urged as she stood in front of Arnav and nagged him to eat. Arnav raised an eyebrow at the sweets and snacks in front of him. She made all of them? Yeh Geet kya koi Chef hai kya?

"Jalebi? Tumne jalebi banaani seekhli?", Khushi asked excitedly as she looked at all the sweets spread in the main hall.

"Kahaan? Dukaan se laayi hai! Maa bas mere naam ka bill phaad rahi hai!", Geet hissed, annoyed at the lies her mother was telling just so that this man would marry her! Ya right! As if I am going to marry him! Dekhlungi tujhe Mr.! Tu toh mera dulha kabhi nahi banega!

Below Arnav tried to tell the couple in front of them that he was not who they thought he was but everytime he tried to speak, the couple asked him something else and without even waiting for his reply they continued to next question. If that was not enough, the young girl who seemed to be called Rajji, sat beside him joking and teasing him about the Geet girl. Why she teased him about Geet? Arnav did not understand. Arnav would have been very angry if he had not noticed that the couple seemed to be too nervous and hence the rapid talk. So, Arnav kept a lid on his anger and continued to wait for his chance to speak.

Finally there was a pause and Arnav took the chance.

"Dekhiye! Main woh nahi hun jo aap samajh rahein hain!", Arnav blurted out to the father of the girls just as Rano called for Geet to come down.

"Kya?", the man asked as he stood up. Arnav stood up too but his attention was pulled away when two girls arrived.

Arnav felt his breath taken away as he looked at the two girls. For a second he was stupefied!

"Matlab kya hai aapka?", the older man growled and Arnav was pulled out of his thoughts. He looked at the old man who continued to speak, "Aap Maan Singh Khurana nahi ho?"

Arnav's widened. They mistook him for Maan? Maan Singh Khurana! The Business tycoon of Dilli! The owner of KC! The Construction King! The most Eligible Bachelor! That Maan Khurana?

The man continued, "Aap woh nahi ho jo meri beti Geet ko dekhne aaye ho!" Saying this, he pointed towards his daughter. Arnav looked at the girl the man was pointing at and then at the girl standing next to Geet. In split second, he made his decision.

"Main Maan hi hun! Maan Singh Khurana! Main toh bas yeh keh raha tha ki ...ki... haan... Ki main yeh formalities mein vishwas nahi karta! Aapko yeh sab banwaane ki jaroorat nahi thi!", Arnav spoke with a smile at his face.

The father let out a loud laugh, "Betaji! Aap toh mera dil jeet gaye yeh kehke!", and then hugged him. As Arnav hugged the man, his eyes traced the girl standing next to Geet who shrank a little at his intense stare.

Once they all sat down, Arnav was formally introduced to Geet and her friend Khushi. Once the talk was done, Arnav asked to be excused as he was too tired. Rano asked about dinner but he refused and Rano showed him to his room.

As soon as Arnav reached his room, he closed the doors and dialed a number on his phone.

"Hello? Maan?", Arnav spoke into his phone.

"Ek bahut badi gadbad hogayi!", Arnav whispered.

"Kya?", he heard Maan question.

Arnav grimaced, "I might be assuming your identity for a while to woo a girl!"

"WHAT!", came Maan's roar from other side and Arnav winced. Maan is going to kill me!

So how do you like that gadbad, people?
