yes she deserves, the actress who is more famous for glamorous roles and bold and beautiful leela
alo can pull off non glamorous role like piku deserves.
and the topic itself was funny and wierd,
she took risk and did that movie when she is at the top of her game is also commendable

also all awards are more for commercial success than they are like national awards 😆
even then like it when vidya balan, deepika get awards and get commerical success too.

thank god they did not give for mastani of Bajirao .she looked beautiful than excellent acting.

if the acting only gets award then i would say it should have aamir all the time,
award is not required at all .

Since when Bollywood awards are to be taken seriously? Forget the winners they cannot even categorized the awards and nomination, I may not seen many awards but ones that was playing in the TV, I was shocked to not see Harshaali Malhotra in best female lead and best debut female nominations. I know she is just a kid, but her role was much note significant than being a mere child artist in the movie, she was the female lead.

Also I really respect Deepika for the incredible effort and turnaround she has brought in her acting, that was a time when she could not even give one single expression. Her transformation has been incredible. If the question is did she deserved the award for her hard work and good acting? Yes she did. Did she deserved it before some great acting performances we had seen this year by Anushka, Kangana, Richa and Kalki? No.
She was not a bad choice, but she was not the perfect choice.
