A return to the 'old' YHM

It's been a veryyy long time since I posted on the YHM forum - I think the last time I posted was during the car accident time back in July 2014. I stopped both watching and posting (though occasionally kept myself updated via written updates) because of increased college and career responsibilities.
I just started to catch up from July 2014 to present this past month thanks to a long winter break and still haven't reached the dreaded surrogacy/possession track (currently at the Mr Bhalla/Bhalla family vs. IshRa point). Glad to see old forum people like EkPaheli, Jyoe, ...Ehsaas..., are still here (what happened to the rajma idli daily rantings btw?)

Because I've been cramming in so many episodes in such a short amount of time, the loss of that old charm in YHM is even more apparent I guess. Its probably around the weird sauten track where Ishita brings Shagun in to the Bhalla house that things become disconcerting (though I guess that kind of track was always going to happen) and then things got even out of focus with the child swap track (though again, there was always going to be a 'Ruhi mad with Ishima' track - but the set up was preposterous) and then things went even more downhill from there -- with certain exceptions (pleasantly surprised with the earthquake scene).

I am definitely not looking forward to the surrogacy&possession track - probably just skip it to January 2016 episodes and the new spoilers about Ishita committing murder is making me shake my head in even more disgust if thats possible. Can there BE more deviations from the heart and soul of the show's premise, setting aside separation and leaps?

But anways, the point of this post was to perhaps offer some fanciful ideas as to what steps could be taken to redeem the show. For starters:
  • change the time slot - instead of 7:30 it can go back to 11 or even 10/9:30. Definitely, the change in time manifested itself in the quality and script.
  • keep it 5 days a week. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, for one. For another, those two days give actors/cast/crew time to rest and rejuvenate which only enhances their work (though regardless of the shitty scripts, from what I've gleaned is that the acting remained top knotch and amazingly professional). It would also value quality over quantity in terms of scriptwriting and plotbuilding - which is the main issue of the show.
  • Go back to the Akash Ganga housing society set; such a cute set! Ever since the move to the service apartments, something has been lacking. Sets are an important piece in the ambience and soul of any tv show - think of Monica's iconic apartment in F.R.I.E.N.D.S, for example. The setting is its own character.
  • Obviously, due to whatever theories Shagun's character is going to stay (though the logical conclusion for her character should have been post earthquake). But can Shagun just get married or something so as to not cause potential havoc? Lets not even get started on the surrogacy; I feel like a horrible human being but it'd wreck the story even more if that child was born.
  • Cut out or severely limit ACP Abhishek's character. I still have a way to go to catch up on the show but seriously?!?! Either stay on as Mihika's love interest (which, with Rinki's death and Sarika's deception, is pretty competitive apparently) or just go away. His character was brought in to reel Sarika back into the plot and pair opposite Mihika but Sarika's been found a long time back and Mihika doesn't need his attentions so his presence is useless.
  • Deal with the problems that are Sooraj and Ashok. Ever since Mihika left Ashok there is no need for the brothers to focus on the Iyer-Bhalla families. Shagun - the main reason Raman hates Ashok - left him too and is doing her own thing so why is there the need for these two idiots? ON TOP OF THIS WHAT EVEN is this I'm reading about Vandu and Sooraj???? Come ON is no couple sacred in tellyland?? The basic premise of the show - an urban, Indian-style 'Modern Family' - doesn't need buffoonish cartoonish villains such as Ashok and Sooraj to generate drama. There are millions of intangible antagonists without having a set villain disrupt the main leads family life again and again and again (and be send to jail for it, too, repeatedly - and repeatedly being bailed out).
Obviously CVs are not going to take heed of this, nor any of the powers to be, but if they ever wonder "hmm, why are viewers disenchanted?" at least they can see this.

Bang on Post
As you said this serial lost its charm after the time change . It has become a female oriented show Always trying to show that their female leads and Shagun as mahaan and superwomens
There were many things which CV's could have tried
1) Showing Shagun repent on her decision of leaving Raman for Ashok and later Ashok-Shagun patch up
2)Ashok getting punished for his deeds
3) Rinki Mihir relation development from friends to life partners
4) Romi Sarika relationship and romi turning to good man
5)Proper Adi redemption track
6)The family separation track where Raman and Ishita left home could have shown much better
and much more
7) Simmi track
8) Proper Ishra pregnancy track
9) There were few scenes where Ruhi behaved so stupidly . There was never a scene where Ishita tried to xplain or correct Ruhi about her behavior . We just got one scene where Raman tried to make Ruhi understand but failed during miracle preg track
But rather always they gave importance to Ishita and Shagun in each track and sidelined male lead and made this serial a big nonsense
Am both Ishita and Raman fan . But seriously this show had capability to show so much including the leads and the both antagonists . But I dunno what made them to come with these creepy story lines
Not sure what they achieved and what they are trying to achieve

I think Star plus motive of giving importance to woman is making all its serials to go for a toss
If a soap is female oriented show like Pratigya/ Nandini etc then there is a need where they can show where female lead has gone through all problems and won at last
But family shows and love stories , I feel equal importance should be given to everyone . Just making the female lead do everything and the family eating and sitting happily and praising her all time is very irritating
Sorry If I hurt anyone but am really frustrated with almost same thng in all shows

Based on wee bit that i got to see before each episode of yhm.
ssn has a similar story of a vamp coming up witha baby ,fathered by the second son of the family.
while family accepts the baby and that vamp for the sake of that unborn baby ,until the baby is born.
Here too they showed the same with adhi.
Now ,tHe only thing they missed here was the vamp's pregnancy part.Which we are getting now.
BUT THIS VAMP GETS A CHANCE ONLY UPON THE DEATH OF THE DIL.
So yhm is heading nowhere in trying to ape ssn.No use of this time slot race.
So lets have a show for shagun and ishita-acp at this slot.New show.
Raman and ishita alone for the 11 pm slot.Old yhm continuation. No more women centric story.
Will it come true?ever
