Chapter 2
"Taani will be in my team." 10 year old Rey announced, all kids were playing in backward of the singhania mansion. His brother shivam and his friends Anjali & vicky were also there.
"But, bhai! She is so small, doesn't even know how to play football. She can't play with us." His brother shivam argued, not liking his brother chose her over him. Even his friends agreed with shivam, which infuriate Rey. Being short tempered by nature, his anger went on another level seeing his friends & brother not letting his angel play with him.
"Yes, Rey! Shivam is right, she can't play with us." Anjali said to him Taani being youngest among them, they never liked her because she always get special treatment from Rey.
"If she is not playing, then even i don't wish to play with you all." Rey told them, Rey look at his little doll, who was standing beside him quietly.
"Come, Angel. We will play in my room." Rey held her hand and took her away from there, ignoring the calls of his friends & brother.
"Ansh, don't they like me?" 6 year old little angel asked him, Rey look at taani.
"They are jealous of you, angel." Rey answered her, they walked inside the mansion. Little taani was too little to understand the meaning of his words.
"What does that mean? Is it some bad thing?" Taani asked him innocently, Rey laughed, he nodded his head.
"It's part of human nature. They don't like how i always play with, but it doesn't matter. Don't think to much about them, and just remember, You are my favorite." Rey said to her, taani nodded in understanding, they were about to enter his room when she stopped him, holding his wrist in soft grip.
"Ansh, I want coke." Taani told him, cutely smiling up at him.
"I'll get it, you wait inside." Rey said to her, taani nodded and went inside his room while Rey went downstairs, in kitchen. He hurriedly fetch a coke bottle and two glasses before he ran upstairs, in his room.
"Here, angel." Rey sat beside her on his bed, he poured coke in glass and handed it to her.
"Thanksiee!" Taani grinned widely, she moved close to him and gave a sweet peck on his cheek, thanking him.
"So, what should we do now?" Rey asked her, taking a sip from his glass.
"Decorate my Barbie-" Taani suggested, Rey nodded in no.
"Then?"
"Lets watch cartoons. Your favorite, tom & jerry?"
"Okie!" Taani agreed happily, their finished their drinks while watching tom & jerry, cuddling up with each other in his blanket. It's their favorite pastime.
Rey come of the beautiful memories of his past when he heard a knock on his door. It's been years, but he remember every moment spent with her. It was something, he can never forget.
"Come in."
The door of his room opened and his assistant entered inside.
"Any progress in search, Adi?" Rey asked him, in strict tone. He was no longer's his angel's ansh, he transformed into a ruthless business man but from inside, he was still her ansh but hide it from the outer world.
"No, sir. Our search team is searching for them from past two months but still, there is no progress." Adi answered him, in low tone, feeling scared of his boss's anger.
"It's been 2 f**king months and still, there is no hint where they could be! What the hell are you people doing-" Rey lost his cool and shouted at the poor soul. It's been two months, he was searching for her madly, still there is no clue of her or her mother.
"Try in city's women hostels, may be there we might get something." Rey said to him before he dismissed him, Adi nodded and left the cabin.
"Baby, hope you & aunty are safe wherever you both are. And don't worry, I'll find you both very soon-" Rey thought to himself, he look at the 11 years old taani's photo frame which was placed on his desk.
"REY!!" A girl entered his cabin, shouting his name in enthusiasm. Rey narrowed his eyes at her.
"Anjali, what are you doing here? It's my office, not your house where you will walk in whenever you want-" Rey told her in stern tone.
"Rey! It's been years, and you are still stuck on her? She is gone, move on." Anjali said to him, seeing taani's old photo kept on his desk.
"Did i asked you for your advise? No, right? So, keep it with you-" Rey snapped at her, he never liked anyone telling him what to do or not.
"Whatever! But tell me one thing, how can you love her so much? You haven't seen her once in 8 years-" Anjali asked him, curiously.
"Loving her is like breathing. The day I'll stop breathing, I might stop loving her, but till I'm alive, stop loving her is not in my hands." Rey answered her, looking straight into her eyes, letting her know that he meant very word he had said.
Anjali narrowed her eyes, they had never understand what Rey feels for taani. Anjali turned on her heels and walked out of the cabin, leaving him alone who again went back to his work, with hope he will find her soon.
