Atleast for that sake, I feel that these women oriented films better not have a super popular face whose presence would overshadow the rest of the things in an otherwise small movie. Also presence of popular bw biggies will shoot up the costs and the chances of it doing really well at the box office despite it trending well, will be low. I feel the best thing to do at this stage(where women oriented movies are a rarity) is to keep the budget low, keep them slightly low profile and let them work on the basis of emit and performances of the entire cast. Later, when such movies become common, the presence of biggies wouldn't take anything away from the actresses or rest of the cast. But before that we need a lot of successful female oriented movies, that would strengthen the credibility of actresses at the box office.

It is not easy to get a film made. Financing is hard to come by especially for small women-centric films which is why having a "star" attached to a project is a big deal. It makes investors believe, if budgeted properly, the film won't lose a lot of money. Even the biggest stars in the West take less money to work in small art films they believe in. Not every film they are offered. Not films that conflict with their starring roles. Just the occasional film they truly believe in. Why do Hindi film actors have to be all art or all business? Why can't they do some of both?

there is no disparity in remuneration...everyone gets what they deserve.. why just actresses ? the supporting actors too can ask for the same remuneration ...
its very simple, its abut the crowd pulling ability... these actresses are crying like babies so that they can make quick bucks before the end of their career.

eveyone in this world wants to make money as quick as possible.
