I don't think pulkit marrying this girl for the reason he gave is that bad.

Yes he is being all mahaan to save this girl but the truth is he has to move on with his life ( yes it might be fast)

Most arranged marriages don't start at love but become loving and hope this girl he marries stands by his side.

The MIL is obviously a trouble maker and will probably interfere in their family life
