@tuna I was in Everest forum too and used to post regularly there. Even I haven't been part of many forums. Very choosy. I only write about those shows which I can connect with and such shows far too less in TV space these days.

Mandavi and Sruthakirti were adjusting Sita's pallu, while their mother was once again looking at her daughter, checking everything about her was perfect, her necklaces, bangles, natt, earrings, pleats of her ghagra. But why is she feeling so numb. Why is she feeling she cannot move. Urmila looked down.

In the swayamvar hall Ram stood at the centre taking the blessing of Raja Janak, Vishwamitra and other elders. Lakshman was standing beside his brother. For once his bade bhaiyya eyes were twinking which was actually his trademark and his usual serene smile hided a blush that was appearing. His bhabi will be coming now. Bhaiyya and Bhabi. Lakshman felt so joyful. But a thought nagged him. Is his anticipation really for his bhabi to come down or was he waiting for someone else. Was his eyes searching for that prankster who spoke on Sita Bhabi's behalf with Bhaiyya in the garden. Bhabi's parchai as she called herself.
As his thoughts wandered he heard sage Vishwamitra asking King Janak to call his daughter. As the message reached upstairs Sunaina told " Urmila you walk by Sita's side. Mandavi and Sruthakirti both of you walk behind her. Dasis please put the flowers in princess path. Sita slowly got up. Her cheeks were blushing red and she tried to suppress the smile that was coming up again and again. As she walked beside Sita she found herself blushing. Will he be standing beside his brother. If yes how will she stand there. Even in garden shecould easily speak to her jiju, but it was impossible to look into that twinkling eyes that stood beside jiju. No wonder she was going numb as it felt each step heavy.
They reached where Ram was standing. Sita looked up. Ram bowed down. As Sita garlanded Ram, sage Vishwamitra and Raja Janak looked at Lakshman whose eyeswere fixed on the one standing beside his bhabi, and she was looking down tryinghard to suppress the smile and blush that was appearing. Vishwamitra smiled at Janak and Janak smiled back understanding the implication.
PS: My second drabble. My romantic instincts have gone a bit rusty as it has been more than a year since I have stopped writing such OS last being written in EHT forum. So expecting feedback from you.

She sat in the chariot with him. As the Chariot starting moving and as Mithila faded from view Mandavi didnt know what to feel. When her father asked her about marrying jiju's younger brother Bharat she had immediately said yes. Her only thought being that she can be with Sita didi. But now Mandavi was not sure. Clad in heavy bridal ghagra, jewellery and all she was feeling rather uncomfortable. If that was not enough her pallu was blowing in the air and she was always trying to control it. She looked at her other sisters. Sita didi and Urmila who is now her devrani seemed to be enjoying the journey with their spouses. And even Sruthakirti didnt seem to have any problem holding the pallu or heavy ornaments. She wanted to shout aloud. How do you blush, I am sweating and feeling irritated in the sun. But looking at the situation she kept quiet.
Bharat looked at his bride. When Bhaiyya asked him about marrying Mandavi, his only thought was since she was Sita Bhabi's sister, she will have the same values like Sita Bhabi and if Ram Bhaiyya felt Mandavi is right for him, then she has to be. From the time he has seen her in the mandap, Bharat felt that his bride was uncomfortable in the costume as well as the rituals. He had seen her struggling multiple times with her ghagra and she almost fell during viddai. And he had seen how her mother was giving on directions after directions to her and the poor girl nodding. He hoped mother Kaikeyi wont keep unnecessary expectations on her that she has to be like Sita Bhabi. Bharat was actually liking her behavior which didnt had any pretense and he hoped it stayed that way.

Mandavi again adjusted her pallu. But this time the chimes in her bangles got stuck in the gold balls of her pallu. She tried freeing the bangles with another hand. But the bumping chariot didnt allow it as if she left the hand she will fall. Pallu was flying from other side and she felt it might fall.

Bharat looked at Mandavi. It will not look good if pallu falls from her head. if some elders see it, they might not like it. He gently moved towards her and asked

" Mandavi shall I remove the bangle from the pallu"

Mandavi looked at Bharath and saw his eyes full of concern. She nodded. Bharat gently removed the bangle and adjusted her pallu.

" Mandavi hold the pallu this way. My mother and Kausalya maa does it like that. It will not disturb you. I will speak to Kausalya Maa and Sumitra Maa so that they will ensure you wear light jewellery and light ghagras after the rituals are over. Dont worry."

First time Mandavi looked into his eyes and felt what love was. As she laughed with him she forgot her heavy ghagra and jewellery. They were approaching Ayodhya and Bharat told her reassuringly. " Mandavi if you have difficulty climbing the steps with your ghagra walk closely behind me stealthily holding my hand. We need to stand side by side only when we reach top for Grihapravesh"

Mandavi smiled once again this time it reflected not only love, but a contentment that she had taken the right decision.

Thanks a very ton all of u...😳#jayvenk, #BhavyaEsther, #varshu27, #tuna_star, #NEIRAlover, #barbieindia. Appreciation from u all means a lot to me! And, whoever I couldn't mention in the list, my apologies, for I was unable to remember all the names 😆 A many thanks once again!

Shatrughna & Shruthakirti are perhaps the most neglected characters of Ramayana.. It was important for me to write about them and dwell into their conscience. Hence the drabble! 😳

@shruthiravi - awesome pieces on Bharat & Mandavi, L & U, and Shankar and Gauri! 😳
