Should Khans start worrying about their legacy?

All three of them are now in their 50s...Just wondering if they should start worrying about the legacy they leave behind in Bollywood..whether by choice or happenchance I dont think they will be able to continue as mainstream heros for much longer...
AB Sr took a 5 year sabbatical before coming back in character roles and has an equally impressive body of work in his second innings as well..

Aamir Khan clearly started thinking about legacy since the early 2000s and has created an image for himself and stuck to it in terms of the body of work he takes up! Even SJ fed the same image/legacy he wanted to leave behind- a thinking audience's hero. He has quite a few movies which have either become iconic or will go down in history as being path breaking! I also think hes one of the Khans who has already started transitioning into non- romantic hero roles!

SRK was far more experimental as a newcomer than he is now. I hope Fan and Raees prove me wrong...His body of work is interesting but in terms of leaving a legacy- I dont know if he will be able to break the chocolate lover boy image if he continues trying to recreate Raj/Rahul in every movie he does! He has the potential..but I guess film choices from hereon will determine whether SRK will go down in history as Raj/Rahul or something more?

Salman is the only one who seems to be stuck in a rut. I think in the last 7-8 years hes hardly acted in any movie- but he is always playing Salman Khan and never the character. His movies might be entertaining and may mint a lot of money but in terms of legacy- not sure if this is the genre that will help him make a mark for himself in Bollywood history? I feel a lot of parallels between Govinda hitmachine of the 90s and SK masala movies today!! That being said He made the transition from lover boy to macho hero so well between the 90s and 2000s , who knows he might surprise us all by reinventing himself again!!!

Would love to hear from others what they think?

ps: Please dont start a my daddy strongest contest here. Interested in knowing who the Khan trinity will be remembered decades from now? They are all talented, successful and hugely popular.

Thats true the line up does seem non-conventional for both SRK and SK. Aamir has always chased the zara hatke films so dangal fits right in! I dunno how sultan vs dangal is likely to go down though...two wrestling movies releasing in the same year, there are bound to be comparisons!

there is no need for the three khans to worry for legacy as they have built it
n will remain unaffected n immortal forever..

bt these three khans needs to retire now as actors n become directors
n groom new talents new stories write a new chapter in Indian Cinema..
they need to stop playing safe now n do something creative n original..
its time they agree they are 50yr old now nt 25 to monkey around trees
its time they age gracefully before audience boos them away n they loose the self respect
they have earned after so many days of hard work..if they have some budhdhi
they will know their time is up as lover boys its time to play big daddy's😆

Why should they worry when they are the only ones who managed tout have a 25+ long and successful career. An actor doesn't need to be young lol. In other France, Korea, USA, China and Japon there is actors that are past 50 who keep on having leading roles.
Its the role of the directors and scriptwritter to offer roles that would suit them, something to chew on.

they shouldnt.. but they should become alil selective while choosing scripts.. they should do what they like sandwitching the public demand!

Aamir has already entered into th phase where all his performances are stamped-memorable.. Since Ghajni happened he hasnt looked back...
Salman's bajrangi is ONE memorable character.. and his previous Prems too... 1 bajrangi after 4-5 masalas.. i dont mind at all!
SRK has a romantic hero image stamped.. whenever bolly would enlist Romance.. it will automatically quote SRK... he is trying to do different.. sometimes that sets well and sometimes that doesnt...

I absolutely agree an actor doesn't need to be young. In fact its a testament to their versatility and talent that they attempt and apparently succeed in playing 20 somethings in most of their movies!!! I don't see too many 50 year olds being able to pass themselves as being in their 20s.

I am not sure whether its a problem of them not being offered roles or the pressure of delivering super blockbusters every time..but last few years I have hardly seen any of them experiment with out of the box roles!

They all have their legacies settled.

If you go by star power, nobody will ever forget Salman's absolute dominance today, SRK's consistency, or Aamir's record-breaking movies.

In terms of movies, all three have their shares of cult/great movies.

Aamir ~ QSQT, Raakh, AAA, AHAT, Rangeela, Sarfarosh, Ghulam, Lagaan, DCH, RDB, TZP, 3I, Talaash, PK

Salman ~ MPK, AAA, HAHK, Khamoshi, PKTDK, HDDCS, TN, Lucky, Dabbang, ETT, BB

SRK ~ RBGGM, KHKN, Darr, Baazigar, DDLJ, Pardes, Dil Se, Devdas, KHNH, VZ, Swades, CDI

So, there's no need to worry for either. Aamir has Dangal coming up. SRK has two beautiful projects in Fan and Raaes. Salman has Sultan.

It's all different to what they usually do.

For 25 years, they've been building their legacy. At the BO, their movies combined have ruled for 25 years. They've all delivered great movies.

It's kinda disrespectful that you compared Salman to a genre actor like Govinda. We're not talking of acting here, are we? If we are, Govinda in comedy is better than the Khans combined.
